Posted January 10, 201114 yr comment_5461790 The Invader vs. Chicky Starr (August 1986) This starts with Invader on the floor bleeding after an attack with Chicky working over the cut viciously. The fans were molten here for a potential Invader comeback and Chicky being a good rudo to rile them up as they just pelt the ring with trash as the match is going on. Chicky is like the Puerto Rican Jimmy Golden in not just hair but the way he worked and carried himself in general. Fans were going apeshit for Invader when he eventually made his comeback then Starr would escape the ring with a police escort to win by countout. Shitty finish but the heat here was intense. I'm going to throw this on the block as a low-end nomination.
January 31, 201312 yr comment_5532026 Chicky Starr v. Invader I - 1/6/86 This is pretty awesome as a spectacle. Apparently Starr ambushed Invader pre-match with a mic and busted him open. The first three minutes of this is just Starr circling him as he bleeds on the floor, taking a shot here or there, as the crowd gets more and more intense. It's insane but I couldn't spot a single person seated for the entire duration of this match. At one point Chicky is screaming profanity on the floor and you start to think shit might get out of hand but it never does. It's like they are just waiting for the big Invader comeback to happen. I'm not sure the use of the armbar in between shots was the best heat building hold, but it didn't seem to hurt and Chicky tossing him over the top for a big bump when he started to make a comeback was a smart spot. Invader finally starts to make a comeback, as he slowly gets going and then pumps himself up full tilt with the crowd going bananas to the point where the building looks to be shaking. He goes in for the kill and Starr just bolts and leaves for the countout. That sounds disappointing but it really wasn't. This was the start of a feud and the fuck you effect of bloodying a guy and then casually leaving before he can get any real damage on you was sold really well by Invader. I see this as a fairly solid nomination

December 24, 201311 yr comment_5577246 I fucking loved this. Invader is bleeding after a sneak attack and Chicky circles him and punches and kicks Invader's bloody head. At one point, Chicky just yells at a fan or Hugo, maybe both, and says "If you don't like me, I don't give a shit!" and continues beating on Invader. Invader's selling is excellent here and makes me believe he's a pretty damn good one when he wants to be as I'm reminded a little bit of the Kamala match. Chicky brings him back in the ring and locks on an armbar as his base which isn't the best but he jaws with the crowd, laughs, and lifts Invader's bloody head by the hair with his free hand. There's a lot more punching to Invader's head before the slow comeback and the giant punches and strikes that are incredible almost completely due to the crowd's reaction. Invader finally makes his comeback and knocks Chicky on his ass. He starts to wail away on him but Chicky escapes to a count-out victory for Invader. This is really the set-up for the feud down the road it seems but it's definitely a SOLID nomination.
