Posted January 11, 201114 yr comment_5461842 Nick Bockwinkel introduces Bobby Heenan as the new manager of him and Ray Stevens. Great, great promo from Heenan follows this. This is from 74 but it is awesome. High Flyers v. Ray Stevens/Nick Bockwinkel Basically the finish shown. The heels beat the fuck out of Gagne and the ref. Larry Hennig makes the save and the heels bump wildly for him. Post-match backstage promo from the heels is awesome. Hennig saying he had to make the save because it could have been his son was awesome and ridiculous. From 74 IIRC. . Bobby Heenan interview. Heenan saying that the requirement to get into the University of Wisconsin is to be able to write your name in three color crayons was great. Okerland says he's aware of something which pisses off Heenan who says he's not aware of what Okerland is aware of. Awesome. Angle with Stevens attacking Heenan when he wins his manager of the year award. Bobby Heenan/Bockwinkel interview showcasing the differences between Gagne and Bockwinkel sleepers. Bobby Heenan/Bockwinkel interview. Heenan blatantly fucks with Okerland and then cuts a promo on Gagne. Really awesome. Finish of Gagne/Bockwinkel with Heenan running in and getting bumped around by Verne for his trouble. Heenan bleeds a fucking gusher here. Angle with a Masked Man who I believe is Slaughter firing Lord Al Hayes as manager and hiring Heenan Greg Gagne v. Sgt. Slaughter Basically the finish shown with the Super Destroyer 3 coming out and costing young Slaughter/Remus/whatever the match. Finish of Kenny Jay v. Heenan with Jay getting his only tv victory when Zumhofe distracts Heenan. Heenan invites Buck into the ring but then sucker kicks him in the face and destroys his boom box. EXTRA pending a date at least. Bobby Heenan v. Buck Zumhofe Last few minutes of a ten minute challenge of sorts. Post-match Heenan has to wear the Weasel suit. Bobby Heenan v. Greg Gagne This is proceeded by a good studio angle with Greg, The Weasel suit, and Bobby. JIP. Greg is in peril. Bobby ends up bumping huge off of a punch and Greg locks on the sleeper but Heenan breaks it with a shot from his arm which has a thick cast on it. Heenan bumps big a few more times leading to a ref bump. Greg wins with a second rope splash. Fun stuff with a hot crowd though not a nom, and this may have still been in the 70's anyhow. Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie v. Nick Bockwinkel We have this already. This is the match where Heenan gets lanced with the sword at the jump and comes back to lead to the finish. Nick Bockwinkel/Bobby Heenan interview on Adnan attack Local promo with Bock and Heenan Bobby Heenan interview on Tito Santana, ends with Heenan shitting on Mean Gene's sports coat. EXTRA Ken Patera/Bobby Duncum destroy a bunch of guys while Hogan destroys Zumhoffe's radio. Hogan makes the save. Post-match Heenan does a great interview with Okerland. Baron Von Raschke/Hulk Hogan/Buck Zumhofe v. Bobby Heenan/Bobby Duncum/Ken Patera Just the finish shown but Post-match brawl was fun. Nick Bockwinkel/Bobby Heenan interview Finish of Bock/Hogan. Bobby Heenan/Nick Bockwinkel v. Hulk Hogan Clipped. Fun match though it came across as a real burial of Bock. Heenan's over the top bump was fucking crazy as you can hear the shit on the ringside table falling onto him. Otto Wanz v. Nic Bockwinkel This is the Wanz title win and is basically just the finishing run shown. Pretty shocking how huge the crowd reaction was for this. Promos with Bobby Heenan announcing the third man for a mystery tag. This is already on one of the previous disc. Angle with Heenan selling Patera to Adnan. We have this already. Heenan costs Lanza a match v. Gagne and gets his ass kicked post-match. Lanza promo followed by a Heenan promo. Blackjack Lanza v. Bobby Heenan JIP. Heenan bumps around big, cheats, and then walks out. Entertaining enough. Two Bobby Heenan promos on Jumbo's title win. Both are great, great promos. EXTRA Bobby Heenan promo. Funny as Bobby stumbles over his own name and then calls himself articulate. Bock/Heenan interview. Heenan introduces Mr. Saito as the newest member of his family. Heenan shits all over the Verne Gagne Pro Wrestling Report newspaper for not having a column by him. Fun Heenan promo Angle with the Fabs being jumped by Saito/Heenan/Bock. This will be on the set, but we have it tagged as an EXTRA elsewhere. Heenan/Bock/Saito promo.

This if from the summer of 1980, and was probably the biggest AWA angle of 1980. People were NUTS to see Gagne get Heenan into that Weasel Suit. the TV match that built to this was really good in the sense that they built it for weeks, and at match time Heenan brains gagne and there's no match. People were furious. It made the Gagne-Heenan weasel suit match THE AWA event of the summer in the Twin Cities. A lot of the other matches on this tape are available in full or near/full, like Buck-Heenan 10 minute Weasel Suit challenge from Winnipeg.
June 18, 201213 yr comment_5507037 Edit this down to which stuff you need dates for and I can extract some specifics for you. Some guessing on the interviews is likely to have to happen. 5) Bobby Heenan and Nick Bockwinkel comment on Verne Gagne’s sleeper and the difference between that and Nick’s sleeper. (1:00, EX-) 6) Mean Gene interviews Bobby Heenan and Nick Bockwinkel about Verne Gagne. This is the funniest Bobby interview I have ever seen. Nick is cracking up and has to turn to face Okerlund to keep from breaking character. Tremendous stuff! 10) Clip of Kenny Jay pinning Heenan during a TV bout. Buck Zumhofe distracts Bobby and Jay takes advantage. Afterwards Heenan smashed Buck’s radio, setting up a feud between the two. 11) Bobby Heenan vs. Buck Zumhofe—Winnipeg Weasel Suit Challenge, JIP. Heenan has to beat Buck in ten minutes or he has to wear the Weaselsuit. (9:43, VG) 12) Greg Gagne vs. Bobby Heenan (AWA TV, May 1980). Gagne gives Bobby his own Weaselsuit challenge, and Bobby goes ballistic and KO’s Greg before that match begins. (4:04, EX-) 13) Greg Gagne vs. Bobby Heenan (St. Paul, June 1980, JIP). Loser Wears the Weasel Suit. The Crowd is NUTS to see Greg get Heenan in the suit. 15) Nick Bockwinkel vs. Sheik Kaissie, no DQ, Minneapolis 1981 (start and finish only). Heenan gets slammed at the start by the Sheik’s sword, but returns at the end to play a significant role in the finish. 16) Heenan is interviewed after getting hit by Kaissie and he’s still livid about it. 17) Heenan has some comments about a Nick title defense in Iowa. (1982) 18) Another Heenan classic interview with Mean Gene. This one is about Ken Patera and Tito Santana. 19) Tito Santana/Buck Zumhofe vs. Bobby Duncum/Ken Patera with Heenan, end clip from AWA TV. Heenan smashes Buck with the radio, and Hulk Hogan makes the save. Heenan and company are livid in the post match interview 20) Hulk Hogan/Baron Von Raschke/Buck Zumhofe vs. Bobby Heenan/Ken Patera/Bobby Duncum (Minneapolis 1982, end clip). Heenan gets destroyed by Hogan after the bout. 21) Heenan and Nick Bockwinkel are interviewed after Hogan is granted a title shot. (1:20, G/VG-) 22) Nick Bockwinkel (AWA champion) vs. Hulk Hogan (end clip, August 1982, Minneapolis). Heenan interferes and gets slammed around pretty good. 23) Bockwinkel and Heenan vs. Hulk Hogan (Handicap match, Minneapolis 1982, beginning and end clips). I guess Hogan figured it was easier to fight both at once. 24) Nick Bockwinkel (AWA champion) vs. Otto Wanz (August 29, 1982, St. Paul, end clip). This is one of my favourite Heenan post-match conniption fits. 25) Bobby Heenan calls the High Flyers and Rick Martel out during an interview to reveal his “mystery partner” for the Super Sunday 6-man tag bout. Heenan reneges and gets slapped by Greg Gagne. In the next segment, Heenan reveals the tag partner for Ken Patera and Jesse Ventura…Blackjack Lanza, returning to the AWA. (March 1983). 26) Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie offers Heenan $250,000 to sell him Ken Patera’s contract. Kaissie sweetens the deal by offering Ken a $250,000 signing bonus. From late April 1983, just after Super Sunday. 27) Greg Gagne vs. Blackjack Lanza, Fall 1983. Heenan costs Lanza the match and Lanza turns on his manager. (end clip, 2:50, VG-) 28) Heenan is interviewed about his breakup with Lanza. 29) Blackjack Lanza vs. Bobby Heenan, Chicago, Fall 1983 (JIP). Lanza pretty much has his way with Heenan until Bobby flees the ring. Rare footage from the Rosemount Horizon. 30) Bobby Heenan is interviewed twice just after Nick Bockwinkel lost the AWA title to Jumbo Tsuruta. (February 1984, 3:35, VG) 31) Another Heenan interview, this one about being sent to Japan to wrestle so he can’t be in Nick Bockwinkel’s corner for a bout against new enemy Blackjack Mulligan. 32) Heenan does a walk-on during a Ken Resnick promo for Verne Gagne’s Pro Wrestling Report. Very funny! 33) Bobby Heenan introduces the returning Mr. Saito as the newest member of the Heenan Family. (2:50, VG+) 34) Heenan, Bockwinkel and Mr. Saito are interviewed about an upcoming match vs. The Fabulous Ones. (1:04, VG+) 35) Heenan interrupts The Fabulous Ones during a promo. They grab him, and Bockwinkel and Saito proceed to come out and smash up Stan Lane and Spike-piledrive Steve Keirn. 36) A series of interviews about the Fabs Piledriver incident. Heenan manages to insult every sports team in Chicago and Indianapolis while going off on an upcoming 6-man bout between him, Saito, Bockwinkel and The Fabs & Blackjack Lanza. 37) Heenan finds out that Stan Lane got to pick his opponent for an upcoming match, and he picked the Crusher. Crusher stops by at the end…(2:00, VG+) 38) Heenan interview, about the Crusher’s antics the week before. 39) A series of interviews from Heenan after it is mandated that their upcoming six-man bout vs. The Fabs and Lanza will be a “Loser Wears the Weasel Suit” match. Classic Bobby! 40) THE GREAT WEASEL HUNT—Nick Bockwinkel, Mr. Saito and Bobby Heenan vs. The Fabulous Ones and Blackjack Lanza (St. Paul Civic Center, October 1984, slightly clipped. Raw footage with no commentary). An extremely rare find! Bobby gave notice to Verne Gagne that he was jumping to the WWF, and Verne sent him around on a farewell “Weasel Suit” tour. This is Bobby’s last appearance in St. Paul for the AWA, and the end of an era. Not too hard to guess who got stuck in the Weasel suit 41) Wally Karbo is interviewed by Ken Resnick and announces that Bobby Heenan has been suspended indefinitely by the AWA Board of Governors. Nick Bockwinkel comes out and cuts a very angry promo. c) Nick Bockwinkel (AWA World Champion) vs. Hulk Hogan, April 1982, St. Paul. (end clip). The first Hogan-Bockwinkel encounter. Bobby Heenan tries to throw Bockwinkel a Foreign object with poor results. Bobby freaks out after the match as only he can. A Heenan Family interview follows the clip. d) Raw footage shot from a ringside camera of the end of the above match. More of Heenan’s great freak out. e) A Bockwinkel/Heenan interview about a Houston title defense against Dick Slater. f) A Bobby Heenan interview about Bobby Duncum’s upcoming match against Otto Wanz. g) A short clip of Hulk Hogan in Rocky III, followed by a Heenan and Bockwinkel interview. They can’t believe Hogan is getting a title shot.
