Posted January 24, 201114 yr comment_5462822 JIP but I don't think much was missing. The opening of this was worked like a workrate match with guys just unloading stuff quickly. It's not high end stuff really, but it's stuff at a rapid pace which was kind of unusual for the AWA. Curt gets his eyes raked by Larry's boots and goes FIP. Standard and fun heel stuff and I like some of the FIP teases as well as the build to the actual tag, but Tom Zenk just doesn't inspire as the "save the day" guy. Larry's selling of the turnbuckle shots amuses me. Curt with the "Axe" for a nearfall, followed by a Zenk dropkick for a nearfall. The running theme here is that Larry keeps pulling the babyfaces off of the covers. Zenk does an airplane spin of all things and this time Larry drops an elbow to break up the fall. Larry bumps through the ropes to the floor while fighting Zenk and gets blindsided by Stevens who shows up and helps Larry spike piledrive Zenk on the floor! Cool angle as Greg Gagne leaves the announce both, Zenk gets counted out, et.

The heels would soon isolate Curt though and he was good at working FIP. Zenk would eventually get the hot tag and he would run wild until the action went to the floor where Ray Stevens would cheapshot Zenk and helped Larry give him a spike piledriver for a countout. Greg Gagne would come out after that and this was an angle to setup the Super Clash match. Fun TV match but a low-end pick at best.
