Orndorff freaking out at the success of the Batten's dropkick offense early amused me. God damn Paul's response to the fired up "toe touch" of Bart Batten is hysterical. Nice "fuck off" spot with Anthony just tossing one of the Batten's to the floor after a drop down on a rope running spot. Then Orndorff runs over and piledrives him while he's on the floor! They go to work on the other Batten, raking his eyes, suplexing him, dropping knees on him, et. Orndorff runs over to the face corner and mocks Batten to come over and give him the hot tag while Anthony rag dolls him. Brian Lee runs out and hops on the apron as the "replacement" for the fallen Batten. DWB ends up face planting on a big splash attempt and Batten almost gets the tag to Lee, but Orndorff blindsides him at the last second. They do a double knockdown spot which I actually thought Orndorff sold really well and Batten tags in Lee. Batten ends up getting pitched over the top rope which was a really lame finish to this. Some people are going to hate the "Lee replaces a fallen partner" deal and I understand why, but I thought this was as gooda use of that gimmick as I've ever seen and the piledriver on the floor looked sick enough where I feel like I've got to put this one on the dock.

Bart & Brad Batten vs. "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony & "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (6/15/92)

 

Battens start strong early with some good double dropkicks with their fabulous mullets flying in the air and they keep the heels discombobulated with their mobility. Orndorff finally has enough and starts pounding on Brad starting the heel barrage and they work him over enough for DWB to toss him to the floor where Orndorff followed up with a piledriver on the floor. Bart comes in and the beating continues as the heels are ruthless with their offense and their taunting as Orndorff goes to the Batten corner and extends his hand for a tag. Brian Lee would come out and he jumps in the corner as the crowd goes nuts and the heels are pissed. DWB would miss a diving headbutt allowing Bart to make his way to Lee but Orndorff comes in and cuts him off. Orndorff's control doesn't last long as there is a double collision allowing Lee to get the hot tag and he runs wild on the heels. It turns into a 4-way brawl until DWB chunks Bart over the top rope for the DQ in a cheap finish. Lee gets doubleteamed until the faces clear the ring. This was fun stuff but that finish stunk. I will co-sign a low-end nomination but nothing more.

This came across o.k and can see it as a low-end pick but nothing more.
