Wright is awesome claiming that he was trying to tell the ref he was having a massive heartattack which is why he was "distracting him" during the title switch. Bob Armstrong shows up on the set and says if he founds out that either of them had anything to do with this he'll strip him of the title. Dirty White Boy/Ron Wright promo, Studd Stable promo, Tim Horner promo (all locals) Finishing stretch of Barbed Wire Cage Match with Fantastics/Bodies. We have this on commercial. Heavenly Bodies/Jim Cornette promo. Cornette is insane with rage. Fantastics promo. "I know fags like you don't know nothing about sticking together!" This is actually a good wrestling promo but that was a bizarre line. Down and Dirty with Dutch interview segment with Jim Cornette and Killer Kyle. Corny is speaking for Kyle now. Cornette introduces a jobber into the ring to hold a board for Kyle to bust. Paul Orndorff promo ranting about the piledriver being banned. Bob Armstrong shows up and asks if he was responsible for the "goofy looking big guy" that attacked Lee at the big show. Studd Stable v. Rock N Roll Express Clipped version of a match we have nominated in full. Studd Stable promo. Rock N Roll Express promo. Fun promo and the first tv promo these guys did in SMW. EXTRA Dixie Dynomite v. Dirty White Boy Man when Dynomite comes back from DWB's early bullying and goes on an offensive flurry the crowd goes fucking crazy. White Boy keeps gaining control briefly, then Dixie hits some offense and Anthony stumbles to the floor for his 'timeout." Dynomite goes for another flurry but DWB tosses him to the floor. Kyle runs out and blackjacks Dixie while he's on the floor so Anthony takes over on his leg. Dixie briefly fires up and goes for a slam but his leg goes out and DWB keeps the title. This was a good tv match, but it needed just a little more to push it over the edge into a nomination. Brian lee/RnR promo (local) Dixie Dynomite promo Tim Horner v. Mike Sampson Dutch is doing "Olympic scoring." Dutch rates Horner's hip toss a 2.3. They do some nice spots in the early going of this one. This was spirited. Sampson's selling of Horner's rolling cradle rolled. Tim Horner promo Bob Armstrong comes out with a flyer he's found circulating that issues a 10,000 bounty on Brian Lee. Lee shows up and says he's got to be worried about someone bringing a gun to the ring now. EXTRA Heavenly Bodies/Jim Cornette promo. Cornette offer 10,000 for a title shot. EXTRA Fantastics promo wit Bobby saying Cornette's mom has offered to whore herself. EXTRA Danny Davis/Tommy Angle v. Heavenly Bodies Loved Angel taking over by tweaking Lane's head gear, then hitting some nice offense. Lane comes back with a neckbreaker which Dutch gives a 9.8 rating. Davis end sup tagging in and gets cut down quick. Bodies win kind of randomly here. Decent tv match. Rock N Roll Express promo. Buddy Landell promo with Paul Lee saying he's going to "use" him. Rock N Roll Express v. Buddy Landell/Paul Lee The RnR's go headscissors crazy on Landell early and Landell is just great flying around being befuddled by all this fancy bullshit. Lee comes in and takes the Flair bump then gets his ass kicked some more. Paul Lee is begging to tag out and Landell is finding every reason not to tag in. Mantell rates the RnR performance a 2.7 as now the Studd Stable have taken over the announce position. Paul Lee is great riling in pain on the ground while the RnR's work him over and desperately trying to tag Buddy. R n R's deck Buddy and hit the double dropkick on Lee for the finish. This was fun. Post-match Budro hovers over Lee and lectures him for his failings. Down and Dirty with Dutch interview segment with Ron Wright/Dirty White Boy. DWB says he vows to be a fighting champion unlike Brian Lee. DWB says Horner has not earned a shot. Brian Lee v. Bobby Eagle Total squash. Post-match the unnamed dude that costs Lee the title shows up and starts beating the piss out of Lee again. Paul Orndorff v. Ron Garvin Awesome spot as Orndorff does a slow break and it looks to be clean and just hits a straight jab right to Garvin's face. Orndorff takes over for a bit but gets his arm hooked by Curtis on another attempted blow in the corner and Garvin of all people throws a pretty weak looking punch. Double knockdown spot and Garvin goes for a piledriver but gets back body dropped and they go to a nice sequence built around a sunset flip. Orndorff goes for a piledriver but Garvin ends up back body dropping him into the turnbuckles. They end up going into a nearfall segment that was fairly well executed but was paced in such a strange way that it didn't really work. Garvin punches Paul coming off the ropes knocking him out and then signals for the piledriver. Garvin goes to piledrive him but Curtis pushes him over. Garvin Stomp! Garvin takes a headbutt to the guts and Orndorff hit a really great looking running knee. God damnit another "he's going for the banned move" spot. Paul gets DQ'ed for pushing over Curtis. God damnit this could have been good but the psychology of it - while smart for setting up the piledriver match - really ruined this one.
