Posted February 13, 201114 yr comment_5464397 Lots of good stuff in this match, Astro is always amazing and there seems to be an in ring contest between him and Cruz to see who can go higher on a backdrop. There was also a really cool moment when Estrada goes to the floor, Astro does his signature dive fake and Estrada walks right into a Cruz dropkick off the apron. The middle rudo part of this match was kind of dull though, which makes this only a low end nomination. Will be interested to see what other folks think of it. EMLL 10/15/89
May 10, 201213 yr comment_5502217 I liked all of the stuff Phil liked, and I liked the middle more than him, so I have no problem calling this a solid nomination. Ary Romero is not a guy we talk about a lot, but I really liked his hammy flexing and taunting of the diminutive Astro early in the match, and he did some fine brawling throughout. Everyone else is as good as you expect them to be, so this was awesome.

Estrada took some punishment and bumped hard while Romero hemmed and hawwed taunting Astro and Emilio was solid. The finish of the 1st fall was great with Estrada running from Astro into a dropkick by Cruz then Astro hitting his reverse tope on Emilio. 2nd fall was a fine rudo beatdown although a little slow but it was hard hitting. 3rd fall was all-action fun with everyone bumping around along with some fun dives so this moves forward as a low-end pick.

Not really digging Romero in the 1st fall or the 2nd fall. 2nd fall attempts the violence with the rudos controlling but it just feels random and sloppy. It gets better with Cruz tied up in the ropes and Charles throwing the knees. No surprise, the heels win the 2nd. 3rd fall, faces come back in short order and it is still carrying the frenetic pace. Overall, this was ok but I couldn’t see cutting something already on the set to keep this on there. Falls short of a nomination for me.
