Boris tries to ambush Sarge at the bell but Sarge is a product of Paris Island and is not going to fall prey to that shit. He is raking the eyes of Boris and has Boris bumping all over the place. Sarge brings a flag into the ring and taunts Zhukov like a matador, then beats him down with big shots while holding the flag before kissing it and tossing it back to the crowd. Awesome. Slaughter ends up taking his AWESOME corner bump and they are at Commiskey so Sarge ends up bumping an insanely far distance and then gets slammed on the ground. Sarge takes a really nice whiplash bump on a hot shot and Sarge is just selling his ass off. Sarge gets slammed out to the floor and is rolling around, knocking over Nelson's announce table. Zhukov goes for a piledriver on the floor but Sarge back body drops out. Boris tries to go to the top but Sarge slams him off the top. Sarge goes on a run and signals for his clothesline but Zhukov pulls the ref in front of him. Boris loads up his elbow pad and Sarge ends up charging in and smacking straight into it. Sarge is bleeding something fierce and Zhukhov is biting it. He tosses Slaughter into the corner and Slaughter takes his face to the post bump. The ref finally rings the bell and Sarge hulks up as Boris retreats. I thought Sarge was really great in this and this was good stuff, with a better finish borderline great.

Boris Zhukov vs. Sgt. Slaughter

- Boris is really bumping big for Sarge so he returns the favor and goes sailing outside. Nothing fancy from Zhukov, just heel tactics. Good comeback from sargebut the ref bump was horseshit. It actually looked good on replay. I didn’t realize Boris had the loaded elbow until after Sarge was laid out. It heats up with Sarge as bloody mess. The ending sucked with no real wild brawl taking place to make up for the non-finish. I agree with the nomination but wanted something in the post match to make up the ending.

Americas Heavyweight Title: Sgt. Slaughter © vs. Boris Zuhkov (9/28/85)

Boris tries to jump Sarge at the bell but he gets cut off and poked in the eyes for his trouble. Boris would bump around for Sarge who even used the American flag in a bullfighting spot before Boris would toss Sarge into the corner who took an insane bump over the ringpost and to the dirt. Boris would work over Sarge's neck here including dropping him on the top rope with Sarge taking a great bump and Sarge is really good at selling the punishment here. Boris would pound him on the announce table before trying to piledrive him on the grass but Sarge would give him a backdrop which had to hurt. Sarge would then slam Boris off the top rope to start his comeback before Boris pulls the referee in front of him as he tried the Slaughter Cannon. Boris would use this as a chance to load up his elbow pad which he would use on a running Sarge who bladed visibly before he went to the mat. Boris then went to work on the cut as the referee for called for the bell before Sarge fought back and ran Boris off. This was very fun and about as good as you were going to get from Boris at this time thanks to Sarge who worked his ass off here. This moves forward.
