Posted June 6, 200520 yr comment_2411711 It's summer in Pittsburgh, which means temps in the mid 80s, and more uncomfortably the humidity's near 100%. I just walked 2 blocks to cash a check and when I got back to the office I felt like I just stepped out of the shower. Not from sweat, but the air is so muggy it's like being wrapped in a wet blanket as soon as you step outside of air condidtioning.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2412742 This is true. The time from early April until early June is my favorite time of the year. It's great weather out, but it's not too cool or hot. With June in swing, it's hot and humid, which means I'm a moody SOB. It doesn't help we've been painting for the last three days and have no AC. Hopefully we'll be done by early afternoon. I love the days off during summer, but man, the weather saps your energy.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2413016 I hate the Summer. It's just so unbearable. This is why I don't mind working full-time, you get 9 hours of AC a day without your electric bill going through the roof. I think it's like 85 here today. It's not going below 75 again any time in the foreseeable future.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2413175 *sigh* You guys are ignoring the greatest advantage of this "unbearably hot" weather... The women are wearing FAR less, particularly the hot (no pun intended) ones.
June 6, 200520 yr Author comment_2413220 For every hot chick in skimpy clothes, there's at least 3 or 4 who should be in snowsuits all year round.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2413305 For every 3 or 4 hot chicks in skimpy clothes, there's only not-so-one who should be in a snowsuit all year round. Edited for accuracy as far as where I'm located. Seriously, the walking part in that type of weather does suck, but, and maybe this is because I'm up here in Canada, I'd rather be walking in hot weather than trying to climb a snowbank to get to a bus stop only to trip and fall over. The only other issue for me is the inside in a non-air conditioned place, but I'm getting that fixed within the next couple of weeks.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2415323 Humidity is nearly 100% here too as well. I really got spoiled on New Jersey/New York weather last week when I was vacationing. Low humidity, and even though it was hot, it wasn't unbearable. I walked outside of the airport here Saturday night and immediately felt the air attack me and started hating life again. I can't wait to move there for good. I'll never have a bad day again.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2417831 As much as I hate summer and the heat, I'd rather be hot than cold.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2418319 Fuck that. I can bundle up. I hate shedding clothes and taking cold showers in a vain attempt to beat the heat. Also it's annoying as shit to be boning a girl while you're both all hot and sticky. In the winter, sex is just another good way to warm up. It's hot as fuck here right now. Just all of a sudden, too, with no warning. I hear thunder outside right now so hopefully we're about to get some rain. If so, I'm going outside to fuckin' DANCE in it in slow-motion like Puff Daddy in a John Woo movie.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2418517 Eh, I don't mind the summer. I just turn on the AC. The winter sucks though. I mean, I can just turn on the heat but when there's snow, especially when it's a lot of snow, you're fucked.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2418539 It's been hot as hell here recently, except for yesterday when it rained heavily. Now it's fucking STEAMY as all hell, which is even worse. Nothing like living in an area with high humidity 365 days a year... You'd never think 35 deg. F would be THAT cold until you feel it down here.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2418705 Finally just POURED DOWN. *goes to dance before Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals*
June 7, 200520 yr comment_2418931 It was supposed to be 65 today and it ended up about 75-80 and sunny. I normally don't mind that type of weather but you try getting into a car that has been baking in the sun all day wearing a fucking suit. It sucks.
June 7, 200520 yr comment_2420999 I work in a government facility. I was *this* close to taking off the polo shirt I had on inside the building and walking down the hall to the parking garage before I realized I had on an Acid Rain t-shirt underneath with the URL of their website emblazoned on the back. Not the best move, so yeah, I had to wait 'til I got in my car but it was pretty cool in there from sitting in the shade all day and my car's A/C goes from on to FREEZING almost instaneously, so it was a smooth and very cool ride all the way home, even with all my clothes on. Though I'm certain I disappointed some females. And males. Homos.
June 7, 200520 yr comment_2421923 I'll take being too hot over shitty road conditions and shoveling any day.
June 7, 200520 yr comment_2421980 I agree, the winter sucks. I'd take +30 C weather over -30 C weather anyday. Hot > Cold.
June 7, 200520 yr comment_2424905 I had to wait 'til I got in my car but it was pretty cool in there from sitting in the shade all day and my car's A/C goes from on to FREEZING almost instaneously, I'm pissed because it seems like my AC is busted. I noticed this yesterday during the thunder storm when my ENTIRE windshield fogged up and warm air was coming from all the vents. I'm hoping the AC just needs to get broken in again over the next few days, otherwise this summer is gonna suck when it rains. I can deal with opening the windows, but rain is going to be a whole other story.
June 9, 200520 yr comment_2460946 I like it. I have central air so I can keep cool but when it's hot out the ladies in Chapel Hill manage to leave most of their clothes at home. And the pool at my apartment complex is nice to walk by...very slowly.
June 9, 200520 yr comment_2460978 That's the problem. I have a converted attic room, and the temperature with the air conditioner running full blast is 81 degrees.
June 10, 200520 yr comment_2464378 I agree, the winter sucks. I'd take +30 C weather over -30 C weather anyday. Hot > Cold. Agreed. I mean, I don't like being BAKED during the summer either (and the way I sweat makes it THAT much worse), but I'd still prefer the sun over cold/snow/weather of that nature.
