May 11, 201114 yr Author comment_5470984 Really fun match! Not as good as the '96 Michinoku Pro stuff, but the best of the few Michinoku Pro matches to make the set so far. It's interesting how they do Southern spots like the back-turned arm wringer and get them over in front of a Japanese crowd.
December 23, 201311 yr comment_5577131 I loved when Sato tried to do the running up the ropes into an armdrag but botches the climbing portion. He still hits the armdrag and then scuffs the mat with his foot like the problem was with his boots. The arm wringer spot always gets a good laugh out of me. I didn’t realize it was a Southern spot though. Fun stuff.
January 7, 201411 yr comment_5578907 Sato = Dick Togo, if I'm interpreting wrestlingdata correctly. The unmistakable rear end is there, at least. I liked the singles match a bit better than this--stakes were higher and there was a little more substance to it. But this was a fun blend of flying, mat wrestling, and comedy. The sequence where the guys seemingly forget who their partners are, leading to Naniwa and Sasuke about to do a rowboat even though they're on opposite sides before they realize what's going on, was pretty inventive.
June 12, 201510 yr comment_5675574 Another fun M-Pro match but this didn't have the over arching story that Delphin vs. Sasuke did. This had more showcase work and comedy mixed in with Naniwa but still showed how this style could be highly effective and entertaining when performed regularly. ***1/2
November 24, 20168 yr comment_5776571 I can't really judge this one fairly because I've never seen Michinoku Pro before. That said, the bout kept my interest, which doesn't always happen first time I see a new promotion or style. All four guys obviously know what they're doing, and both teams exhibited fine continuity and teamwork. I enjoyed the armwringer spot (as I always do), but the rowboat spot confused me. I'm honestly not quite sure who was who, but as I said, it really didn't matter, and I'm sure I'll pick up on these guys as I watch more of the promotion. I'm already looking forward to the Sasuke-Delphin singles bout.
