Posted February 19, 201114 yr comment_5465607 Midnight Rockers/Ray Stevens v. Buddy Wolfe/Doug Somers/Kevin Kelly Jannetty did some fun stuff in this. I liked the way he got in position for the FIP, he took some nice bumps et. All hell breaks loose and you think this is going to get really hot and then it just sort of settles back into a typical match. Marty is really a dynamic FIP and sells the shit out of his leg. There is a part where he fires up with punches and then just drops after getting kicked in the shin. I was not in love with the monkey flip hope spot but at least Jannetty sold the leg after ward. Shawn ends up reaching in and slapping Marty in the face while he is in a half crab to fire him up. Michaels eventually gets the hot tag and the faces win. I enjoyed parts of this but the heel team was really uninspiring. Boris Zhukov v. Jerry Blackwell This was a remarkably boring match. Boris did not look good and Blackwell looked like he would rather be anywhere else. The Mercenary/The Terrorist v. Jimmy Snuka/Russ Francis Another boring match. Snuka got in his reverse leapfrog at least. Francis might have the worst splash off the top I've ever seen. Larry Zbyszko post-show promo about his involvement in the Hennig/Bock match. This should be an EXTRA Nick Bockwinkel/Stanley Blackburn interviewed about the same situation. EXTRA For unknown reasons there is a Dory Jr/Dick Slater match at the end of this disc.
May 21, 201114 yr comment_5471499 The Midnight Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) & Ray "The Crippler" Stevens vs. "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly, "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers, & Buddy Wolff (5/2/87) This is quite the heel team. Jannetty is the MVP of this as he sells his ass off then has these great hope spots that makes you want him to get the hot tag or do something positive. Shawn is working hard in the corner as well trying to get Marty going and arguing with Sherri. We would get a couple of 6-way brawls during the FIP section but Marty could never get away from the heels and this segment would make Ricky Morton jealous. Shawn would finally get the hot tag and the faces would win but damn that FIP section took up about 90% of the match. Crusher Blackwell vs. Boris Zuhkov (5/2/87) This was pretty bad. Russ Francis & "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka vs. The Mercenary & The Terrorist (5/2/87) And this wasn't much better. Then we get post match promos about the AWA title situation with Zbyszko, Bock, & Blackburn and this is extra material.
