November 10, 200519 yr comment_3886566 Raheem DeVaughn - "Ask Yourself" Probably my song of the moment right now followed by Sheryl Crow's "I Shall Believe" and Sarah McLachlan's "Building A Myself" (Afterglow Live version). "Ask Yourself" is just a great jam to have on before you throw it down on yo' lady.
November 14, 200519 yr comment_3914803 Jay-Z f. M.O.P. - "U Don't Know (Remix)" -- quite old, but still straight HFGO. Just Blaze simply laced the track. Another Jay-Z song I can't stop listening to is "My 1st Song" off the Black Album.
November 23, 200519 yr comment_3987027 The Notorious B.I.G feat. Jay-Z - "What You Want" from the new Biggie Duets album. You wanna talk about HFGO? Nigga, this is it.
November 23, 200519 yr comment_3987030 Andre 3000 f. Norah Jones - "Take Off Your Cool" One of my fav. tracks off of The Love Below... so short, but so perfect. I think we wore Spread out at my job.
November 23, 200519 yr comment_3988727 Punks Jump Up - Brand Nubian. I'm on some gangsta shit this evening. I even got some folded over, high top Chucks on with the thick laces. WHAT!
November 23, 200519 yr comment_3989575 You need to check out the Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down video. Bet you haven't seen it in ages. And by the way, thanks for that HFGO you sent along this morning. Chuck Taylor, Ghost, 'Cris and the Funk Doctor...I'm listening to it all right now.
November 23, 200519 yr comment_3991537 Man that video was so early 90s. And did I NOT tell you that new joint was that shit?
November 25, 200519 yr comment_4003011 "I'll Cover You (Reprise)" and "Seasons of Love" (basically the entire RENT soundtrack) Man... guys, if you haven't checked out RENT you need to and soon. It's just... wow. I can't say enough about it.
November 29, 200519 yr comment_4027801 Girlfriend - Alicia Keys Kissin' You (Remix) - Total Am I the ONLY one that doesn't the like the original "Oh Honey" song that was sampled on Kissin' You? Just wondering.
November 29, 200519 yr comment_4028842 I'm pretty sure I've said this here before but "Girlfriend" is my favorite Alicia Keys song and one of the few I even liked from her debut album. Jermaine Durpi is really hot right now (he's produced the vast majority of the singles Mariah Carey and Bow Wow have released from their latest albums, Dem Franchise Boyz "I Think They Like Me (Remix)", Nelly's "Grillz", Avant's "You Know What", etc.) but his sampling of Ol' Dirty Bastard's "Brooklyn Zoo" on "Girlfriend" was totally unexpected. When you first heard "Brooklyn Zoo" you can't tell me you EVER thought of someone SINGING over that track. JD made it work. Well. Ah, now "Kissing You" brings back memories. It was the favorite song of a girl I once knew... *trails off* Anyway, it's a good song, a really good one considering most people thought of Total as being pretty talentless (I don't know where that assumption came from; they had quite a few hits on their two albums...where are they now?). Are you sure that "Kissing You" samples Delegation's "Oh Honey"? The only song I know that's somewhat infamous for sampling that is Three Times Dope's "Funky Dividends."

Yeah, when I heard the track at first, I said to myself, "Oh shit, is that ODB??" It was indeed a really well done sample. I was impressed and still am. And yes, JD's pretty damned prolific right now, I can't deny it, he's HAWT~! Heh. Kissing You's remix, sampled "Oh Honey" for sure because it's even called the "Oh Honey Remix" on the cd single I bought. I never really cared for the original album version of the song, I much preferred the feel of the remix...then again, I almost always like the remix better than the original anyway.
November 30, 200519 yr comment_4035239 I just went and downloaded this, thinking you had put me up one something but the minute I heard it, I realized I had heard it before but completely forgot about it. I think I still prefer the original simply because it's a great song and in an age of oversampling and non-creativity it's actually...*gasp* original. And no Puffy Daddy verse.
December 14, 200519 yr comment_4135065 Nas' "Rewind". DAMN good song. I also just listened to "I Smell..." from G-Unit. *sigh* The good ol' days.
December 15, 200519 yr comment_4138186 Oh, I care. Juelz Santana - "Changes", "I Am Crack", "There It Go (The Whistle Song)"... shit, might as well just say What the Game's Been Missing.

You know what's funny, today I was thinking to myself that I am really loving me some Juelz lately. I'm not a SUPER huge Dipset fan, but Juelz has been holdin' it DOWN lately. Do you like his, "Wait Till You See My Clip"?
