December 15, 200519 yr comment_4138376 You mean his version of the Ying Yang's "Whisper Song" freestyle? Yeah, it's pretty safe to say that I'm the biggest Juelz fan on this board or that'll you find outside of NY probably. CJ could vouch for that one. Though it'd be NO HOMO.
December 15, 200519 yr comment_4138960 Have you lot heard Plantlife? I'd been after their stuff for ages, to no avail. Luckily I found their album about this time last year and it was so sweet. The best funk I've heard in ages. Well that's what I'm listening to right now.
December 15, 200519 yr comment_4140074 I've been a fan of Juelz since 2002, but I'll admit it; I hate The Whistle Song and it somewhat saddens me that it's that track that's gained him true mainstream exposure. He's put out tons of good bad tracks worthy of some airplay, but they wait for a bad bad song to show him off to Joe Blow. I just don't dig these songs with gimmicky beats (i.e. I loathed The Whisper Song). As for what I've been listening to... - Get 'Em Daddy Remix/Cam'ron - Corner Store/Papoose - Movin' Weight/Young Jeezy feat. Clipse - Do Your Thing/Cam'ron - Make It Work/Juelz Santana feat. Lil Wayne & Young Jeezy Bout to fire up The Books' Lost and Safe that I "acquired" after reading Bad Brain's thread on the 20 albums of the year.
December 15, 200519 yr comment_4141148 Why "I Am Crack" (which is lyrically Juelz's best song) is beyond me.
December 15, 200519 yr comment_4141266 Bruiser, I know what you mean about The Whistle Song, but honestly, for me at least it's one of those things where it's so bad it's good. I don't consider it QUITE as crossover as The Whisper Song, but it's got club appeal and we all know hip hop artists gotta do at least ONE club track on their albums. I haven't heard all of "What the Game's Been Missing" but I think Murda Murda, I am Crack and Mic Check more than make up for it. And...just to bust your balls...talkin' about feeling sadness over mainstream appeal...YOUNG JEEZY? Man, the guy is a reincarnated Master P over there with his lazy ass groans of "Yeaaaahhhhhhh" and his horrible lyrics. I'M sad this dude has a record deal. FB, I haven't heard NO HOMO in a while and was beginning to miss it. I don't know too many people actually who use it or even know what it means without taking a sec to think about it. How refreshing. But to not completely derail this thread, I got on Be Easy-Ghostface, Unpredictable-Jamie Foxx featuring Luda (Luda kills it again) and the Draped Up Remix-Bun B and friends on. Say what you will about those H-town fellas but they're on that "so bad it's good" tip too.
December 15, 200519 yr comment_4141302 Mic Check more than make up for it. Not the weak clean version of the track on the album.
December 15, 200519 yr comment_4141704 Oh don't get me wrong, I think Jeezy's awful. How anyone who hides surplus drugs at his auntie's house can be considered gangsta is beyond me. He just lucks out by having some smooth production and hooking up with enjoyable emcees. In this instance, we've got some nice sampling and Clipse, who I'm a fan of. When I look at Jeezy's collabs with other artists, I see someone who's like that guy nobody wants at the party, but tags along with the well-liked folks so he always winds up at them, anyway.
December 15, 200519 yr comment_4141864 Bout to fire up The Books' Lost and Safe that I "acquired" after reading Bad Brain's thread on the 20 albums of the year. Nice one; hope you like it. I got hold of it yesterday and loved it. Reminds me a bit of Kid A actually, but less smooth-sounding. I'll write a bit of an update on the list as to what I've found tomorrow, hopefully. Their HipHop list was certainly interesting.

Their HipHop list was certainly interesting. Definitely has a Kid-A quality to it. I wasn't sure how well I'd respond to an album comprised primarily of sound samples, but it grew on me about halfway in. After one run through, I'd have to say the An Animated Description of Mr. Maps is the most appealing track. It also marked the turning point for me, as everything after that was better sounding than the first half. I've got Wu-Tang Meets Indie Culture bumping on the iPod right now. Love the production.

I've found that it takes me a while to acclimatise to a sound sometimes. Or maybe you just prefer the second half anyway. I've got Wu-Tang Meets Indie Culture bumping on the iPod right now. Love the production. What is that?
December 16, 200519 yr comment_4146517 I haven't gone back to the first half yet, but will probably do so in the not-too-distant future. Wu-Tang Meets Indie Culture links Wu-Tang members with several underground rappers, many with obvious talent but have slipped under the radar. Lyrically, it's nothing that'll blow you out of the water, but thanks to the smooth production, I didn't find too many tracks that you could chuck out. Definitely something for all Wu fans to check out. I downloaded it, but this is one of those albums I'll go out and purchase now.
December 17, 200519 yr comment_4150289 Me and Flyboy have been "on it" for a minute now, but Ashanti feat. Paul Wall & Method Man, "Still On It" is pretty tough right now. For all the haters, "Best of Both Hoods" with Juelz AND Jeezy.
December 17, 200519 yr comment_4150878 For all the haters, "Best of Both Hoods" with Juelz AND Jeezy. Que?
December 17, 200519 yr comment_4152603 See, now you've gone and confused FB by placing "best," "Juelz" and "Jeezy" too close together.
December 22, 200519 yr Author comment_4186408 I saw a music video the other day but I missed the name of it and I want to download it. It was a hip-hop video with the singer wearing a brown beanie with a stripe on it. He's like in the street singing and surrounded by a slew of other cats. Very vague but any help?

December 23, 200519 yr comment_4192909 Sun, do yourself a favor and look SIX posts above yours. And it's METHOD MAN, not Red.
December 23, 200519 yr comment_4193732 Honestly, I'm not sold on that. Paul Wall goes to waste, to me.
December 24, 200519 yr comment_4195721 Sun, do yourself a favor and look SIX posts above yours. And it's METHOD MAN, not Red. Damn. That's what I get for posting on the fly when I'm at work. And I know you guys have been on it and all, and I'm pretty sure it was YOU that was ON IT first, but it was FB that sent it to me. *shrugs*
