April 25, 200619 yr comment_4857428 Best start to a song would have to go to "Jesus Built My Hot Rod" by Ministry I think. I'm been listening to Seal's version of "Walk On By", Chris Rea's "I Drove All Night", the Faith Evans remix of DMX's "How's It Going Down", Stone Temple Pilot's unplugged version of "Big Empty", the remix of Dem Franchise Boyz "Oh I Think They Like Me" and the remix of "Riding Dirty" with Cham, Pap and Jae Millz even though Millz phones it in a bit. Rick Ross's "Hustlin" remix with Busta is something I copped ages ago but it's only really just recently burned itself into my brain. Ross is far from nice or accomplished but the beat is straight fire.

April 27, 200619 yr comment_4862850 I have really been feeling my fellow Oaktown citizen E-40, with his "Tell Me When to Go" remix. Kanye's verse on it is catchy.
April 27, 200619 yr comment_4862994 I can't believe Kanye even hopped on that hot garbage. Fuck the HYPHY "movement" and the whole Bay area. DIPSET -- that's a real movement (as evidenced by Game gettin' down with Jim on that "Certified Gangstas" Remix). It's amazing to me that two award-winning, platinum-selling artists such as 'Ye and The Game would even LOWER themselves to jump on a track with someone as COMMON as LOCAL 'talent', E-40. Big mistake in my eyes and not the smartest business move. They're obviously the two hottest things on the track. I bet that *IF* they start playing this crapola on the radio out here, they'll totally excise E-40's verse and just leave the white meat hotness. 40 should've reached out to Too $hort, the Luniz, Spice-1, Richie Rich, Digital Underground and all those other Oakland-bred has-beens first; even get sorry-ass Gary Payton to make a cameo in the video while they all wore "R.I.P. Mac Dre" t-shirts. Maybe he could've brought HAMMER back on some HYPHY shit.
April 27, 200619 yr comment_4866380 Jeez. I think my eyebrows are singed with that scorching reply. And that's sad because I don't even have very much eyebrow hair to begin with. All I have to say is, EXCUSE ME for showing some support to my Oaktown people. Sheesh. Perhaps all will be forgiven when I mention what I dl'ed and was listening to last night. Or not. Brooklyn to Compton - Game/Fabolous Damage is Done - Grafh Sharades - Papoose And yes, I know the last two been out for a while, but I just got around to dling them. And oddly enough, I don't ordinarily love Cee-lo, but I think I'm kinda feeling this Gnarls Barkley collabo with Danger Mouse.
April 27, 200619 yr comment_4866430 I was unaware he was working with Danger Mouse, so I felt sorta dumb the other night when I saw the video and thought, "Oh shit, Cee-Lo's back" only to see "Gnarls Barkley" appear at the end, making me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. I'll have to check out the rest of the album.
April 28, 200619 yr comment_4867586 Yeah it's a little trippy. But you should check out the album, the singles I've heard on it are off the hook. Have you checked out the DangerDoom album, The Mouse and the Mask? It's pretty damned good.
April 28, 200619 yr comment_4867649 Not yet, but I did download St. Elsewhere (in record time) after my last post. Only gave it one listen (real brief album), but I dug what I heard. Some of the stuff is pretty out there, but that can be expected with these two. As aside, have seen the promotional photos that went out for this? Awesome.
April 28, 200619 yr comment_4869771 Smile by Lilly Allen. UK MC/Songstress singing about being pleased to see someone unhappy after they've screwed you over only to realise their worse off for it. Finally a UK female MC that doesn't piss me off.

April 30, 200619 yr comment_4878134 Flyboy sent me this about three weeks ago but if you go to this guy's official website, you can hear the whole thing. Back in November, 50 Cent was on Hot97 and he dropped the bomb that he and Jay-Z would be joining forces to co-executive produce Freeway's new album. He mentioned "Where U Been?" and was a little peeved he didn't bring it by for Funkmaster Flex to play (produced by Scott Storch, it's damn hot -- classic Free and I'm sure I put it on my list of Best Songs of 2005). At any rate, if you wanna hear the fruits of Freeway's combined Aftermatch/Shady/G-Unit/Def Jam/Rocafella/State Property affiliation (with that many people to pay he'll be on Hot97 crying he's broke like The Lox did before the year's over...please check out THEIR interview, esp. at the 13-minute mark when Puffy calls!) hit up FreewayatLast.com where the entire mixtape G-Unit 19 is available to listen to. The first song, "Rep Yo' Click" with Lil Jon on it...OMG. The beat reminds me a lot of Lloyd Banks' "Warrior (Remix)" for some reason but Warrior never made me wanna cock a pistol, beat niggas up and rob a bank. THIS DOES. Damn.
May 16, 200619 yr comment_4944625 *sigh* Cam's not really trying anymore. I guess that's been the case for a while, but this album sorta solidifies it. It's not bad, but it's nothing new and there isn't too much to be found here that can't be supplemented on other Cam tracks of recent vintage. The Jay-Z diss is here, albeit, retooled and a bit shorter (thank God). I'm still amused how blunt Cam is on Touch It or Not.
May 19, 200619 yr comment_4954647 Cam'ron - Killa Season I was lucky enough to have this actual CD in my hands last Thursday (your boy got CONNECTIONS, NIGGAS~!!!). Well, relatively lucky. Of the tracks that made the cut, I'd heard exactly HALF of them already since the Dips put out a new mixtape nearly every week with album material on'em. I'm glad I didn't spend MY money on this. Suck It Or Not might still be the best song on there and that's more because of Lil Wayne's verse than Cam's. If anyone wants the real early version of "Touch It Or Not" featuring Lil Webbie (I doubt I'll have many takers) hit me up on AIM. I still have to watch the DVD that came with it and my boy is gonna loan me that low-budget, wack-ass KILLA SEASON movie that is sure to disappoint but it'll be good for a laugh...maybe.

Haha, yeah, I've heard half of the songs as well. We already established this but mixtapes > album releases. Anyhow... Sisqo - "Thong Song", yeah, I went there.
