June 4, 200520 yr comment_2384419 Bwahahaha... My classes are 99% Hispanics. When we review slavery, they are required to write a paper imagining they are slaves, describing the lifestyle, how they would escape, would they escape, the punishment inflicted, the isolation from families, etc. Unfortunately, when my students decide to give the slaves a name you would never imnagine how many Leroy's, Jermaine's, Shaniqua's, Shantelle's, etc. that I get. These kids have absolutely no shame when it comes to stereotypes. It gets even worse when they have to do their immigrant passport project... Jose from Germany Jack from Russia Jet Li and Jackie Chan from China And it goes on and on...
June 4, 200520 yr comment_2384439 And, this is the city that could be the future NBA Championships? For shame, for shame.
June 4, 200520 yr comment_2384448 I'm not saying the whole city is like that (it is), just my students (not really).
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2411276 "I Wish" scares me. It's probably not a good idea to have all those children in the studio with the Jerry Lawler of R & B.

June 11, 200520 yr comment_2481467 Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Just simply a stunning album no matter how many times I listen to it. I love this CD! I used to get so annoyed by my friends when they'd insist on only listening to "Doo Wop (That Thing)" over and over and wouldn't even bother to listen to the rest of the album. I always thought it was interesting that that was the most popular single, because it's my least favorite song on the album. I prefer "Lost Ones" and "Forgive Them Father" myself.
June 13, 200520 yr comment_2501223 I'm actually more prone to "Ex-Factor", "To Zion", "When It Hurts So Bad", "I Used To Love Him", "Forgive Them Father", and "Nothing Even Matters" myself. I think those are all excellent songs.
June 13, 200520 yr Author comment_2504325 Right now I'm listening to Have A Cigar by Pink Floyd. I've been listening to the new Audioslave album a lot lately though. I really like it.
June 13, 200520 yr comment_2504539 Sorry to get off topic, but Coffey, that's the best icon I've ever seen.
