Posted February 22, 201114 yr comment_5465829 Leon White v. Brian Knobbs White is so fucking stiff. Seriously the clothesline he laid on Knobbs was brutal. I dug White carrying Knobbs back into the ring up the steps as a feat of strength spot. White takes the knees to the guts on the splash but comes back with that weird Vader smash thing he always did. He wins with a powerslam/splash combo. EXTRA Frankie Defalco/Chris Matthis(?) v. Yuri Gordyenko/Alexis Smirnoff Basically a squash for the Russians. Midnight Rockers v. Buddy Rose/Doug Somers Nice quick sunset flip off a corner charge for Shawn. They come back up, run the ropes and Buddy takes a nice victory roll nearfall. Cool spot as Michaels gets kicked out of the ring on a lateral press attempt and gets posted by Somers while Buddy distracts the ref. Shawn is a bloody mess and the heels go to work. Crowd is really hype for the Rockers as Rose and Somers take turns, biting and punching at the cut. Cool spot as Somers walks Michaels over toward Jannetty and holds his face up by the hair before elbowing him in the cut. Michaels desperately scooting around, slumping over the ropes, throwing desperation punches et. was all incredible and makes you realize how much better Michaels was fundamentally at this point. Great near hot tag spot with Somers just walking over and punching Shawn in the face as he grabs his hand to block him from tagging Marty and Shawn follows up with a bump through the ropes to the floor. Rose stands in the ring and counts with the ref but Shawn just beats the ten count. Shawn wins a punch exchange but Somers tags in and cuts him off. Somers takes some licks and looks to be down but does a leaping headbutt from his knees to stop Shawn. They go into a knee punch exchange with Michaels winning and doing an awesome spinning fall down hot tag to Jannetty. Somers gets bumped all the way to the steel post not once but twice. Jannetty chases after Rose and Sherri ends up getting a cheapshot onto Marty with her shoe. Michaels is so out of it that he is laying on the floor as Marty tries to make the tag and the heels expose a turnbuckle and slam Jannetty face first into it. Now Marty is cut and getting his cut worked on. Somers hits a nice standing dropkick for a nearfall. jannetty face plants on a wild blood soaked swing which looked awesome. he is just flailing around knocking Buddy off the apron and trying to fight through Somers with craze shots but ends up back in the heel corner. Punch exchange between Jannetty and Rose ends with Marty biting Rose's face and getting knocked into Shawn for the hot tag. All hell breaks loose and there is a ref bump and a series of big bumps in the ring with Jannetty and Rose spilling to the floor. Rose fucking kills Marty with a gutbuster on an upright chair. Post-match is wild and crazy as fuck. This is on the level of the Cage Match though the star in this one on the heel side is Somers. Greg Gagne v. Mike Shields This was pretty decent. Gagne sold well and I thought the body press finish looked good. No clue if I got the other guys name right or not. Sherri Martel v. Candi Devine Devine knocks Martel to the floor early. She ends up in control with a Boston Crab. Sherri rolls through and gets a quick nearfall. Martel just gets her asskicked getting whipped around thrown to the floor, slammed, et. They end up spilling over the top and going to a lame finish. Overall a pretty good women's match though. Leon White/Greg Gagne/Earthquake Ferris v. Alexis Smirnoff/Yuri Gordyenko/Boris Zhukov Gagne and Yuri actually had a really fun and spirited looking amateur exchange in this. Heat section on Gagne was not terribly impressive but the crowd was super into it and White fucking kills people off the hot tag. Both Gordyenko and Smirnoff took insane bumps for White mauling and White was really great at firing up the crowd who were absolutely in love with him. Zhukov comes in and gets in some headbutts but gets powerslammed by White when he tries to come off the top. God damn another crazy bump from one of the Russians this time for Ferris. Ferris goes for his Ferris wheel but he gets tripped up from the floor while the faces brawl with Adnan and the Russians end up stealing the win. This was hot enough and fun enough to at least garner consideration. Midnight Rockers v. Buddy Rose/Doug Somers (Cage Match) The heels try and keep the Rockers out of the Cage to no avail. Rockers dominate early with Buddy taking some fun bumps and Michaels hitting some nice punches and a back elbow. Rose goes low to change the momentum and slingshots Michaels into the cage busting him open. Michaels is disgustingly bloody as always and gets pinballed into the cage, gets bitten, hell at one point Somers just comes in and steps on him to keep him from making a hot tag. Rose pulls up a on a cover and ends up getting decked in the balls by Shawn. Marty gets the tag and tosses both heels into the cage. He ends up pulling up on a pinfall attempt on Rose who is also busted open. Sherri starts to climb the cage and Marty rakes Rose's face directly against the steel right where it separates their faces causing her to drop back down. Somers and Jannetty end up in and Jannetty gets bumped into the steel and ends up crawling blindly over to Rose who bites his freshly cut head. Michaels runs over and rams Rose's head into the steel while Jannetty gets bumped into the Cage again. Marty and Doug end up in a punching exchange on their knees and Somers takes a huge bump into the steel. Shawn tags in and hits a diving elbow off the top. Somers takes a couple of more big bumps into the steel. Michaels goes up top and Rose tries to stop him but Michaels gets off a diving elbow but pulls up Somers who is finally bleeding himself. Rose comes in and ends up trying to escape as Marty comes back but Marty pulls him up to the top by his ears. They get into a punch exchange while sitting on top of the cage and Michaels sprints across the ring and creams Somers with a clothesline. Rose gets knocked down on his ass and the Rockers hit a double lawn dart onto Somers for the pin.
