Posted February 22, 201114 yr comment_5465839 Pre-show interview with Stanley Blackburn was funny. Earthquake Ferris v. Ali Khan Not good but it was interesting to see them try so much. Sherri Martel v. Candi Devine The Sherri roll through escape of the Boston Crab never gets old to me. Devine gets chucked to the floor but when Martel follows here out there she ends up getting slammed on the floor twice and then taking two faceplanting bumps back in the ring. Silly spot with the ref getting tied up in between the girls and Martel ends up accidentally head scissoring him. Ridiculous finish with Martel winning via roll up with Devine's foot on the rope and post-match controversy. Decent match. Jimmy Snuka v. Jay York What was interesting about this is that they did some clever and decent things but they did them in the least convincing and slowest fashion possible. Jimmy Snuka promo. Stan Hansen We have this already Midnight Rockers/Curt Hennig v. Buddy Rose/Doug Somers/Alexis Smirnoff Rose ends up taking two huge bumps to the floor after an opening criss cross. Amusing sequence with Rose scoring a couple of bodyslams only for Hennig to rattle off a series of bodyslams against the entire heel team. Shawn took a nice bump off of a big boot from Smirnoff but ends up dominated Somers who takes his typically back body drop fall. Jannetty come in and hits his double leapfrog spot on Somers and Rose and then hits a double sunset flip. Jannetty takes some snug looking blows and does a mini-FIP but tags out and Rose and Michaels do an incredible looking rope running exchange that ends with Rose bumping big off of a superkick that caught him in the chest. Rose took the Rockers punch to the gut/kneedrop for a nearfall but Rose avoids a follow up leg drop. Hennig runs right through a Smirnoff boot making it look brutal. Smirnoff gets slammed off the top but eats the double knees on a splash attempt. Somers with a stiff gutbuster on Hennig who is full blown FIP at this point. Rose goes for a superplex but gets knocked down. Hennig stands up on the top but Rose desperation crotches him to end a great sequence. Smirnoff hit an insane jump kick to Hennig that looked brutal. Hennig with an O'Connor role attempt but Somers gets a blind tag in and gutbusters him again. Hennig ends up reversing an ab stretch but it's in the heel corner and they just pull him out of the hold. Cool spot as Rose whips him into the ropes but follows with him in sync and hits knees to his injured ribs on the immediate rebound. Hennig ends up in an awesome strike battle with Somers. Hennig wins and makes a great hot tag to Marty. Jannetty hits a powerslam for a nearfall that gets broken up and all hell breaks loose. They do a triple bump with the heels and Rose richochets out to the floor. Smirnoff eats a flying dropkick form Hennig and then Marty presses Shawn onto him for the finish as Shawn hits a huge plancha onto Rose to keep him from breaking up the pin. Really an awesome match that was stiff, featured some crazy bumps and had some tremendous selling to go with a hectic pace. Interview with Rockers and Hennig
