Posted February 22, 201114 yr comment_5465901 I liked the opening of this a lot as Bock of all people was working like a quick babyface confounding the monster heel with his speed and precision. Zhukov wasn't out of this World bumping for it but he was in place and got over for the armdrags and other stuff Bock was tossing out. Zhukov takes over after Bock follows him to the floor. Boris hits some decent chops and ends up working over Bock's leg. Bock is really good selling the leg at this point and even though Zhukov does not exactly scream excitement he gets some good stuff in including a nice Indian Deathlock. I really liked the spot with Bock trying to come back with a punch and selling the shit out of his hand because of the hard head of Zhukov. Bock breaks out and hits a pretty good looking double pump kneelift. Bock runs off a string of offense but ends up collapsing when he goes for a slam attempt. Cool spot as Zhukov takes Bock and throws him backwards into the top turnbuckle by his head and then starts throwing headbutts to the back of Bock's skull. Zhukov locks on a full nelson and starts rag dolling Bock who just sort of falls on the ropes to break the hold. Boris goes to ram him in the turnbuckle from a full nelson position but Bock kicks off and wins with a roll up. This was a pleasant surprise and makes you really want to see Bock against a more talented monster heel.
April 18, 201213 yr comment_5500380 AWA World Heavyweight Title: Nick Bockwinkel © vs. Boris Zuhkov (8/30/86) Bock uses his quickness and agility early on to keep Boris reeling and Boris does a good job of making Bock look good. Boris would then go on offense and used a basic big man offensive barrage and his head as big weapon even when Bock tried to punch him there where he would hurt his hand. Boris would use the full-nelson on Bock who would get to the ropes to break the hold but Boris would go back to the hold with Bock this time using the ropes to take them down and gets the win with a cradle. Bock was really good here and this match is way better than most of Boris' matches so I'll push this forward.

Boris Zhukov Low End Nomination - AWA Digest 8/86 - 11/86 - Man, initially not feeling this but then Zhukov decides to attack Bock’s leg and he does a freaking number on that leg. He botes the leg. Awesome ode to Mad Dog from earlier in the decade. Butt ugly leg vine figure something from Zhukov but Bock sells like he was being whipped. Some of the selling from Bock bordered on comical but this was worked well enough I could see it on the set.

Worst case scenario that mentality results in more personal picks and I can pick this up off the scrap heap if I deem it worthy
