Debeers makes the first play for the glove but ends up taking a big crotch bump. Snuka goes up and gets the glove but Debeers follows him and hits a big suplex causing the glove to fall off. Debeers gets to the glove first and goes for a fist drops but Snuka moves and rolls to the floor. Debeers goes to throw a punch at Snuka on the floor but he ducks and Debeers hits the post. Snuka wrestles the glove off and it falls in the middle of the ring and they end up doing leaps for it getting there at the same time. They have almost a test of the strength over the glove. Snuka ends up hitting a leaping headbutt that knocks the glove off of Debeers hand. Snuka gets the glove on and Debeers bails to the floor. They end up running around the floor and back in Snuka hits a leapfrog but they end up having a collision and the glove sails into the crowd. Debeers pulls another glove out of his pants and they end up doing a weird spot where no one knows what the fuck is going on and Debeers ends up fleeing. This was really awesome and a great use of the gimmick up until the finish.
May 2, 201213 yr comment_5501466 Glove on a Pole Match: "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka vs. Col. DeBeers (2/21/87) Snuka dominates DeBeers early including using a piledriver but DeBeers fired back with a low blow and made a play for the glove but would get crotched on the top rope by Snuka as payback. Snuka would grab the glove but DeBeers would hit a big backdrop suplex off the middle rope sending the glove flying on the mat. DeBeers then got the glove and missed punches with it which started a fierce battle between both men over who would possess the glove with the glove eventually flying in the crowd. DeBeers would pull another glove out of his pants which was interesting because it makes you wonder why he wasn't using it to begin with and he tapped Snuka who fell to the floor but Snuka would come back in the ring and attacked DeBeers. Snuka would pull the other glove out to show the referee which sent DeBeers running away. Weird finish but there was some really fun action here and this moves forward.
May 26, 201213 yr comment_5504031 Col. Debeers v. Jimmy Snuka (Glove On A Pole Match) Low End Nomination - AWA Digest 12/86 - 5/87 - Really enjoyed this. Picks up when DeBeers gives Snuka a backdrop driver from the 2nd rope and the glove comes loose. DeBeers grabs the glove but can’t find a way to capitalize, missing with each punch attempt. Really lame ending that keeps it from a no brainer. Low end nomination but the finish really was weak.
