Posted February 25, 201114 yr comment_5466071 Killer Kyle v. jobber Squash. Rip Rogers v. Reno Riggins Riggins gets attacked and chopped to fuck on the floor. Reno comes back and chokes Rip with his ring jacket. Rip is awesome selling Reno's punches. Riggins back elbow is ridiculous. He tries a second and gets kicked in the gut. Rogers stops the sunset flip attempt with a straight right and then rolls through on a reverse crossbody attempt. Rip goes for a move off the top but ends up getting crotched. Rogers hits a nice DDT to cut off Riggins. Rip goes for a piledriver on the floor but it gets reversed and he takes a back body drop on the hardwood. Riggins gets caught going up top and crotched and goes for a follow up superplex but gets shoved off. Reno hits a cross body for the finish. This was a really fun sprint. Bob Armstrong promo. He announces the Bluegrass Brawl Rock N Roll/Smothers promo (local) vignette of Sullivan at the shrink doing reading rorsasch/ink blots/whatever the fuck. This is actually amusing. Clips of DWB flag burning angle AWESOME Tracy Smothers pre-tape talking about being proud of his kids being able to join a church and not a street gang when they grow up. These caricatures of the North and South are awesome. EXTRA Down and Dirty with Dutch Interview Segment with Ron Wright/DWB. Bob Armstrong confronts them. Wright says they are moving to NYC and renouncing the South. EXTRA Nighstalker v. Larry Santo Total squash. Brian Lee/Tim Horner promo. Rock N Roll Express promo. They raise the specter of a mystery partner. DWB/Corny promo (local) Corny/Bodies promo. This leads to Ricky Morton v. Bobby Eaton This was worked like an FIP section so it was pretty good. Eaton is someone you want to see bump and rattle off offense and this match really isn't a showcase for him, but the clip job on Morton's knee looked nasty and the crowd really bought it. This has a pretty hot finish run but then the Studd STable hits the ring for another show ending brawl. Tracy Smothers/DWB backstage promos. Kevin Sullivan feeding the pigeons Tim Horner v. Nighstalker This was pretty good speed v. power with Horner winning and getting jumped and Lee clearing the ring. Brian Lee/Tim Horner promo. Brian Lee v. Kevin Sullivan I ccan't imagine a Brian Lee v. Kevin Sullivan match being much better. Lee bled, there were some stiff shots from both guys, they brawled outside the building. The ring bell rang. Bob Armstrong promo announcing the three team street fight at Bluegrass Brawl. Bodies/Corny promo. Reno Riggins/Len Fields/Larry Santo v. Studd Stable/Dutch Mantell Decent enough squash showcase. Post-match promo was pretty good. Tracy Smothers v. Dirty White Boy Smothers throws punches early and DWB bumps to the floor and comes up a bloody mess. Smothers stays in control but ends up whiffing on a cross body and then gets decked on the floor with the SMW title opening him up in the process. Tracy's blade is even sicker than Anthony's and the targetting of it was good. Smothers comes back with an atomic drop out of the corner and throws some double punches in the corner but Anthony goes low to break things up. DWB with a nearfall on a DDT. Smothers with a quick small package but gets steamrolled with a clothesline as soon as he gets to his feet. Smothers ends up bumping to the floor but fires up out there. Great mid-ring punch exchange with both guys looking great and some awesome selling from Smothers as he ekes his way back into the fight. Smothers hits a double axe off the top and starts to go on a run and the fucking disc starts to conk out. Thankfully I have seen this match and I remember how it ends as Smothers gets a nearfall or two and I believe hits the jawjacker but Ron Wright gets out of his wheelchair and knocks Tracy out allowing DWB to retain the belt. Damn good tv match, probably the best one I've seen so far aside from Snow v. Morton. Shame everyone of these fucking discs is crappy out in the last few minutes.
