Smothers stays in control but ends up whiffing on a cross body and then gets decked on the floor with the SMW title opening him up in the process. Tracy's blade is even sicker than Anthony's and the targetting of it was good. Smothers comes back with an atomic drop out of the corner and throws some double punches in the corner but Anthony goes low to break things up. DWB with a nearfall on a DDT. Smothers with a quick small package but gets steamrolled with a clothesline as soon as he gets to his feet. Smothers ends up bumping to the floor but fires up out there. Great mid-ring punch exchange with both guys looking great and some awesome selling from Smothers as he ekes his way back into the fight. Smothers hits a double axe off the top and starts to go on a run and the fucking disc starts to conk out. Thankfully I have seen this match and I remember how it ends as Smothers gets a nearfall or two and I believe hits the jawjacker but Ron Wright gets out of his wheelchair and knocks Tracy out allowing DWB to retain the belt. Damn good tv match, probably the best one I've seen so far aside from Snow v. Morton. Shame everyone of these fucking discs is crappy out in the last few minutes.
June 23, 201114 yr comment_5474889 This is a no brainer. This is just a kick ass brawl with double juice. The finish was great. The crowd was amped up for this. This might have been the best t.v match in the history of the promotion.
December 1, 201113 yr comment_5489425 SMW Heavyweight Title: "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony © vs. "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers (2/8/93) This has been building up nicely over the last month so this should be full of hatred and sure enough Tracy comes out firing bombs bringing out the juice from DWB after a post shot. The color is all over DWB's face as Smothers works him over before he misses a cross body block off the top rope. DWB sends him to the floor where he hits him with the SMW belt as payback from the post shot. Tracy comes up juicing as much if not more than DWB with DWB bringing the aggression in working the cut. Both men just pound each other the rest of the way in some really good spirited action with some great punches thrown around. Smothers then goes on a great run and the payoff to everything is Ron Wright finally gets out of his wheelchair and KO's Tracy allowing DWB to win. Damn great match and a slam dunk nomination.
