Morton is great as always as an FIP and the size dichotomy between the teams actually helps cover for the fact that the Bruise Brothers are the Bruise Brothers. Heat section was about the perfect length and I dug Morton hitting his delayed rana after the hot tag. The Bruise Brothers switch spots behind the refs black after a double dropkick spot and they get a good nearfall after a clothesline on Gibson. Gibson runs the ropes and gets creamed int he back with a tennis racket shot for the title shot. This was by no means a great match but it was the most complete tv match in some time on SMW tv.
June 21, 201114 yr comment_5474634 The guys told a basic story where the Rock N Roll were on the hit and run on the big heels. I feel that the Bruise Bros best run was in SMW. Morton sold his ass of for the big monsters. Cool old school finish. Great post match brawl puts this on as a low end nomination. The match was solid, but the post match puts it over the top.
December 6, 201113 yr comment_5489832 SMW Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. The Bruise Brothers (Don & Ron Harris) (6/7/93) RnR won a squash so Corny comes out for a grandstand challenge which works in his favor. RnR are on the move early and often here as they are getting their shots in and getting away before they can get caught but it wasn't too long before Morton would eat a big clothesline and the heels would work him over. Morton is really great here as the FIP as the size difference gives him a chance to sell what looks like big punishment. The build to the hot tag was good and when Gibson came in he cleaned house before Morton would join him hitting a nice huracarana leading to the double dropkick. Corny would get involved leading to a Bruise Brother switch and a racket shot leading to the RnR losing the titles. This was a fun TV match and it's good for a low-end pick.
