Ridiculous pre-tape Jim Cornette promo from his home. He's in bed surrounded by various teddy bears with the Bodies tending to him. He is talking with his mouth packed filled with cotton and wearing a neckbrace with a bandage on his head. He says Bullet has asked for his commisioner job back after beating the shit out of Cornette. Cornette says he has filed suit. Corny announces a pair of matches with the commissionership on the line and Cornette or Bob has to leave SMW stips. Corny announces Funk as Bob's first opponent. EXTRA

 

Terry Funk pre-tape. Funk says Bob Armstrong is being tried for attempted murder of pro wrestling by putting his bastard kids on tv. Funk says Bob is on welfare. ON the bottom there is a scrolling bar that says "I'll See you pukes in Knoxville!" EXTRA

Down and Dirty with Dutch interview segment. Ron Wright is there pay the bounty but it ends up in a fight between Lee and DWB about who deserves to claim the money. Fytch works the sex appeal to get the money for Lee and DWB leaves pissed.

 

Tim Horner promo. God these are painful. Sets up a Country Whipping Match.

 

Chris Candido v. Jason West

 

Candido does a flip plancha here that Caudle marked out for. Typically fun Candido squash match.

Steve Armstrong v. Kevin Sullivan

 

This is a wild brawl early. I am not a fan of Sullivan in SMW but this felt like a real balls to the wall fight. They are out on the floor and Steve ends up getting crotched on the barrier and then flies into the fans and literally knocks a bunch of them over. They fight over and around the guardrail some more with Steve eating a chairshot and falling back into the crowd again. The in the ring stuff is not as engaging but Steve worked some good underneath hope spots and I was shocked to see Sullivan bust out a powerbomb for a nearfall. Steve's comeback was really short and he is about to win with the top rope clothesline when the Bruise Brothers run in. With a real finish this might have been a nomination, but nominating a five minute match with no finish seems ridiculous.

Dennis Coralluzo (I butchered that) pre-tape from the WWA offices. The hilarious mafia overtones here are worth a chuckle. EXTRA

 

Tim Horner v. Mike Sampson

 

Good back and fourth match with some fun spots from Horner and a good finish. Candido runs in and attacks Horner with a whip at the bell. Horner gets the belt away from him and chases him off with the belt.

 

Down and Dirty with Dutch interview segment. This starts with another clip of Cornette in his bed at home. Corny talks about his plans to be commissioner. He calls Armstrong a fraud for using piledrivers on him when he had campaigned so much against them in the past. He references the Funk piledriver on Flair from 89 in order to get over the toughness of Funk. Next up is Bob Armstrong's response with Dutch. He talks about his "right to make a living" which amuses me given Southern "right to work" laws and the way SMW catered to their populist conservative base. EXTRa

 

Brian Lee v. Bobby Blaze

 

Blaze hits a nice plancha after Lee bails to the floor but ends up taking a post shot for his trouble. Blaze takes some nice, impactful and dramatic bumps for relatively uneventful Lee offense. Really cool finish as Blaze hit an out of nowhere spinkick and goes for a flip splash but gets caught in a powerslam for the pin. Three more minutes of meat and this would be a nomination.

 

Brian Lee/Tammy Fytch promo. Fytch says Smothers is coming back early because he can't resist her. DWB shows up and demands Ron Wright's money back. Fytch leaves with Ron Wright.

 

Ricky Morton v. Jimmy Del Ray

 

This really pisses me off as about four minutes of what looks to be a really good match are shown before the fucking disc becomes unwatchable god fucking damn it to hell.

Corraluzzo's desk being full of trash and papers was hilarious.
