Posted March 2, 201114 yr comment_5466433 Manny Fernandez v. Wahoo McDaniel Pretty sure the date on this should be 88 not 89. Anyway this was incredibly stiff and the audible nature of some of these shots made it better than what you get from some of the other none pro shot bouts of this era that were probably just as rugged. Still I would have a hard time going to bat for this for a set at this point given everything I have seen so far. Curt Hennig v. Jerry Lawler Early camera work sucks but it really misses nothing but "feeling out" spots and this opens up with a great fiery punch exchange with Lawler eating some stiff Curt shots and firing back with rapid fire gut punches and a big blow that sends Curt over the top. They do a rope running spot with Lawler dropping down and chasing Madusa for a sec who is Curt's second as Hennig continues along on the criss cross. Cool sequence of "catch the leg" spots, one of which features a nice Lawler enzugiri. Lawler works a headlock for a bit before Hennig takes over on the arm. This is just starting to get going when the camera goes black and we get a picture of Ricky Morton wooing and then we come back and the match is over. God damnit. Rock N Roll Express v. Bad Company My favorite part about this is that Damien Kane is managing Bad Company. Tanaka and Diamond both took some really good bumps in this including a nutty one off of a Gibson knee lift. Still this was super disappointing. Literally the most disappointing match I've seen so far as the RnR's were totally on cruise control from the jump.
