Slaughter/Greg Gagne v. Ray Stevens/Nick Bockwinkel Larry Z challenges Sarge to give him his belt back pre-match and gets decked which leads to all the heels pinballing around. There are some really awkward looking double team spots early in this. Greg ends up going FIP and then there is a fairly substantial edit. Sarge gets the hot tag and Stevens takes a pretty great bump in the corner. IN sync sleeper/cobra clutch with Gagne and Bock spilling to the floor and here comes Larry for the DQ. Post-match Sarge promo. Sgt. Slaughter v. Larry Zbyszko JIP at about five minutes. Slaughter loads up the clothesline and ends up taking an insane over the top bump. Larry tosses him into the steel knocking the barricade onto the front row in the process. Larry exposes a turnbuckle and slams Slaughter's head into it then hits a suplex for a near fall. Larry misses a dropkick and Sarge takes over. Ref bump. Sarge gets chucked over the top rope. Larry exposes the other turnbuckles but ends up getting shoved into the turnbuckle. Lame DQ finish. Blah. This is actually a pretty awesome sprint which is really what Hayes does best. The problem is this has a non-finish and there is nowhere near enough shown to merit a nomination. They manage to cram in all kinds of shit including a nice Hayes lariat, a really good looking cross body, a Buddy Roberts posting, a great sunset flip near fall, the ref getting creamed when Martel suplexes Hayes on top of him, Gordy getting headscissored from the outside in, et. Fun.
