Posted March 7, 201114 yr comment_5466715 The next show starts with clips of Big Red & Miguel Perez Jr. getting handed the WWC Tag Titles which brings out an angry Chicky Starr who you can't even hear because the heat is so big. WWC Tag Titles: Chicky Starr & "Rambo" Ron Starr © vs. The Rock n Roll RPM's (Mike Davis & Tommy Lane) (October 1986) Sasha & Peaches are handcuffed together on the floor. This is a brawl at the bell before the rudos slow down the pace stalling around which gets the crowd going strong. We get a clip but it looks like we don't miss too much as Ron is still getting worked over but he would soon make the tag to Chicky where Lane becomes FIP getting worked over by the rudos both singly and in double teams. Davis would get the hot tag and runs wild before it breaks down into a 4-way with the ref getting bumped and the women fighting on the floor. The women brawling forced the guys to the floor and the referee to call this a no contest. This had some good action at times but not enough for a nomination. Universal Heavyweight Title: Carlos Colon © vs. Stan "The Lariat" Hansen (October 1986) This is a wild brawl at the bell as Colon uses Hansen's bullrope and they go at a fast pace immediately with both men trading the advantage and early juice from Hansen. They go from inside the ring to the baseball field where Hansen bashed Colon's head into anything he could before missing a lariat into the ringpost allowing Colon to work over the left arm furiously. Colon just kicks the shit out of Hansen next as he bites away at the cut but Hansen gets something in his armbrace and hits the lariat on Colon but Huracan Castillo jumps in the ring and tells the ref about the foreign object so Hansen attacks him then piledrives Colon before hitting the lariat on a grounded Castillo. This was a fantastic brawl and a slam dunk nomination as it was just action from the bell with great heat. Mascara contra Caballera: Super Medico (Jose Estrada) vs. "Flamboyant" Eric Embry (Summer 1986) This starts out fast with Medico hitting dropkicks and Embry firing punches in return but Medico gets a backslide for a nearfall sending Embry to the grass to slow the pace down. Medico then fires some really good punches before Embry would cheat to gain control. Medico would fight back though getting some nearfalls before Embry takes an insane bump to the grass going to break. We come back with Medico making a big comeback so it looks like we missed the heat section. Embry would take out Medico's legs and used the ropes to pin Medico but Invader comes down and tells the ref what happened which pisses off Embry who chases Invader around until Medico gets an O'Connor Roll to pin Embry as the fans go nuts. Embry gets his hair cut after the match and this should be extra material. Chicky Starr & "Rambo" Ron Starr vs. Pedro Santos & Super Medico (November 1986) Medico teaming with a jobber is odd and he looks good here but his team had no chance. Then we get a video of Huracan Castillo's issues lately with rudos. TNT vs. Angel Diaz (November 1986) Squash. Invader III vs. Blue Devil (November 1986) Spotlight match for Invader. Jason the Terrible vs. Luis Arroyo (November 1986) Squash. Miguel Perez Jr. & Big Red Reese vs. Frankie "The Thumper" Lancaster & Mexican Angel (November 1986) Lancaster was good here as a chickenshit heel and this was an okay match.
June 30, 201312 yr comment_5549487 The clip of Big Red/Miguelito being awarded the North American titles and Chicky coming out sounds like it's part of the scenario that leads to him attacking Commissioner Castillo and helps set up Chicky/Hansen vs. Colon/Castillo. I think we've arrived at the end of the RPM's. Wait, Pedro Santos is the best partner Super Medico could get to face the Starrs!?!
October 31, 201311 yr comment_5569934 The opening segment with livid Chicky responding to the tag title situation is great shit, just from the environment alone. Possible EXTRA Chicky Starr & "Rambo" Ron Starr © vs. The Rock n Roll RPM's The opening of this takes forever as you have the women handcuffed together on the floor and Chicky and Ron stalling like motherfuckers. I loved Chicky mugging for the camera with the tag belt like the scumfuck that he is. I had some minor disc hiccups in this match, but it may have just been my old ass computer lagging. Anyway, about eight minutes of this are shown and it's a pretty good match, but I just struggle to see it on the set. There were some good spots, a solid FIP and Chicky is fun in it, but the most action was the women brawling on the floor and the post-match brawl. This is another one I could see as an EXTRA. It's strange because this seems to have been a hot feud and a part of me really believes that it should be represented on the set, but every match is just flawed enough to feel like a stretch. The Colon/Hansen and Embry/Medico matches are nominated already. Chicky Starr & "Rambo" Ron Starr vs. Pedro Santos & Super Medico I actually really enjoyed this, it just wasn't long enough to nominate. This sort of worked like the Buddy/Doug v. Jesse Hernandez/Baby Vader form the AWA Set, but with Medico constantly trying to save Santos and ultimately failing because of smart heel work. Fun match, just not a nomination. Miguel Perez Jr. & Big Red Reese vs. Frankie "The Thumper" Lancaster & Mexican Angel Big Red is both terrible and awesome all at once. He's terrible in the sense that his timing is off on almost everything and his movement are unbelievably awkward. He's awesome in that he is super charismatic and it comes out a ton in everything he does whether it's working the crowd from the apron, or reacting to a heel flurry, or delivering on a basic offense. This was basically a glorified squash, but between Reese's schtick and Lancaster's schtick, it was fun.

Hugo and Moyano run down the signed matches for the year end shows. Ron and Chicky Starr defeat Super Medico and Pedro Santos. Apparently Pedro Santos is making his debut here. Fun match. Recap of the situation between Chicky Stars and commissioner Castillo. It started when on the Oct. 18 show when the commissioner overturned the result of the first Hansen vs. Colon match and returned the Universal title to Carlos Colon (clip if this is shown). Then, Nov. 9 when the commissioner got involved in the Hansen vs. Colon rematch and disqualified Hansen for using the foreign object. Hansen proceeded to attack the commissioner. Then, on Nov. 16, Chicky Starr invited the commissioner to the Sports Shop where Castillo announced that Stan Hansen was suspended from wrestling in Puerto Rico. Then, in a televised match, Chick helped Ron Stars score the pinball over Miguelito Perez and Big Red. As the fans protested, Castillo came out and informed the referee of what happened. The ref restarted the match. The match went to a time limit draw and afterwards an irate Chicky Starr had some angry words for the commissioner about costing them a match they had already won. He says he's tired of Castillo, he's got in for him and Castillo will get his. Finally, Thanksgiving night, first Chicky has a tirade when the NA tag titles are awarded to Miguel to and Big Red. Then later, after the Stars used a foreign object to get the win, the commissioner came out and overturned the referee's decision. This caused Chicky to attack the referee and then the commissioner, leaving Castillo a bloody mess. Remember that the commissioner had to retire because of an injury that weakened his heart. You know, I can sort of see why Chicky was pissed. TNT squash win over Angel Diaz. Invader 1 about his match tomorrow against TNT and the year end show match vs. Jason. Invader has promised a surprise for Jason. Apparently Jason has twice attacked Invader and busted him open with the face mask. He'll reveal next week what the surprise is.
