Dino Bravo This was Slaughter under the hood and it was really fun to watch him do rope running exchanges and take monkey flips from babyface Dino Bravo. Bravo ends up winning with an airplane spin. Lord Alfred Hayes is pissed because Wally Karbo says his mask has to come off. The Super D's end up destroying Karbo and Bravo. EXTRA Dino Bravo promo Iron Sheik v. Butch Reed This is from Houston Ken Patera feats of strength from WWF. Big John Studd v. Mad Dog Vachon No clue where this is from. Vachon biting Studd's toe amused me as did the massive size disparity. Stan Hansen v. Curt Hennig JIP though I don't think much of anything is lost. Hennig is working a headlock as a base early and Hansen is fun trying to roughneck his way out of it. Hansen takes over but Curt gets a near fall on a sunset flip and then fires back with some stiff shots. Hansen takes over with a big kick and gets a near fall off of an elbow drop. Nice suplex near fall from Hansen and they do a great spot with Hansen going for a bulldog, but Curt rams him into the turnbuckles and Hansen stumbles head over heels into a near fall for Curt. Curt tries to go back to a headlock and gets nastily crotched on the top rope. Hansen locks on a stomach claw of all things and then hits an atomic drop. Cool chop exchange but Hansen says "fuck this," takes him down and locks him in the Boston Crab. Hansen drops the hold and then hits a huge back body drop on Hennig. He goes to throw him over the top but Hennig gets tied up n the ropes hand man style where Hansen works on him. Hall hits the ring for the save. Nowhere near as good as the other match of theirs I've seen but still a really good match. Jerry Blackwell v. Crusher We have this already. Blackjack Lanza/Bobby Duncum v. The High Flyers JIP. High Flyers dominate with pretty solid arm work early. Really liked the spot where Lanza went for a back body drop and Gagne adjusted in mid-air and arm dragged him back down. Lanza actually moved around really well during this period. Duncum comes in and does a blatant choke spot that actually looked pretty cool. Duncum with a diving waste lock of all things to stop the hot tag. After the hot tag Lanza takes a huge bump and they do a really good near fall. Brunzell goes for the figure four but Duncum comes in and kicks him in the face and then knees him in the head. Greg eventually gets the hot tag and hits some nice thrust kicks. He locks on the sleeper but it gets broken up. Duncum hits a bulldog for a near fall. Brunzell tags in and hits his dropkick and goes for a flying headscissors but Duncum drops him into a back breaker for a near fall. Great, great finish with Brunzell escaping the Blackjack sleeper, Gagne locking on his sleeper off a drop down double team and Brunzell keeping Duncum at bay up until the finish. This would be a solid pick, but I'm fairly sure it is from the 70's.

In the kayfabe era, Bravo, booked as an unknown, coming in and winning this was HUGE. One of my lasting impressions of my earlier AWA-watching years. Blackjack Lanza/Bobby Duncum v. The High Flyers This would be a solid pick, but I'm fairly sure it is from the 70's. It is...July of 1977, in Winnipeg. Good indicator how over the Flyers were in their earlier years.
