Posted March 9, 201114 yr comment_5466809 Steve Grey vs. Johnny Kidd 5/2/84 - It was interesting watching this in sequence with Kidd's matches against Saint and Clive Myers, because it became apparent how much better Grey was at putting the youngster over as a threat. It wasn't just that Kidd took the first fall; he came off as competitive in many exchanges throughout the match. Grey wasn't as flashy as Saint or Myers, but he was better at keeping in touch with the big picture of a match. My only complaint would be that he came of as so genial here that it felt like a hard workout more than a fierce contest. Anyway, it's worth a look from everyone though not a high-end match. Mick McManus vs. Catweazle 10/11/75 Tony St. Clair vs. MIck McManus 2/14/76 Wayne Bridges vs. Tony St. Clair 1/24/87 - I enjoy Bridges, but St. Clair was dull as dirt here, and the match ended in a stupid double knockout.
