Posted March 13, 201114 yr comment_5467195 I'm not sure why they called this four-man tourney the Christmas challenge when it was filmed in mid-November but so be it. This semi-final actually turned into a really solid match. Boscik gained the early advantage in the third round with a nasty submission that involved him twisting Kidd's leg and stepping on the back of his neck at the same time. Kidd sold the damage to his leg big to start the fourth but used quick counter strikes to get back in the match. He really upped the tempo and had Boscik running and stalling on the outside. They did a good job overall of establishing that Kidd needed to work a quicker pace while Boscik wanted a more grinding-style match. It came down to the last round, where Kidd got overeager with one of his diving strikes and gave Boscik the opening he needed for a second submission. This wasn't a blowaway great match, but they played off their contrast in styles to produce something engaging. I'll throw it a nomination. WOS V2 13
April 19, 201213 yr comment_5500417 It aired during Christmas week. Zoltan was amusingly fat here. I'm not a huge fan of him as he's supposed to be this Hungarian mat wizard and spends most of the time doing heel schtick. This match was mostly schtick. It also had that "Death of ITV Wrestling" vibe. It was entertaining enough, but I don't think it's a strong nomination.
