Chicky Starr would get involved so Invader had to deal with him until he got hit in the face with the hockey mask to give Jason the win. Invader ripped off Jason's mask as revenge afterwards. TNT vs. Pedro Santos (January 1987) Squash. Gran Mendoza & Bob Heffernan vs. "Jumpin" Joe Savoldi & Ricky Sexton (January 1987) Spotlight match for the rudos. The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood vs. El Satanico & El Vikingo (January 1987) This ain't the famous Satanico. Miguel Perez Jr. & Big Red Reese vs. Assassin #2 & Rick Debro (January 1987) Squash. Armando Salgado & Super Medico (Jose Estrada) vs. El Demonio & El Satanico (January 1987) Basically a squash. The Assassins vs. Carlos Ocasio & Isaac Rosario (January 1987) Nothing much here. Gran Mendoza & Bob Heffernan vs. Carlos Ocasio & Zorro (January 1987) Squash. Gran Mendoza & Bob Heffernan vs. Armando Salgado & Super Medico (Jose Estrada) (January 1987) Competitive match. June 30, 201312 yr comment_5549494 The TV title match between Invader and Jason had a contract signing angle: This Satanico was Victor the Bodyguard wrestling under a mask.
November 1, 201311 yr comment_5570101 The Invader © vs. Jason the Terrible This is hands down the most empty I've seen any PR building so far. This wasn't the sort of match that knocks you on your ass, and it wouldn't be a top rung match for the set, but I think it is easily good enough for a nomination. It gets a lot of time for PR tv during this period and they do a slow build for sure, which I could see annoying some people as watching Jason work a chinlock isn't terribly compelling. Having said that, when they came up for the big spots and moments they all looked really good and seemed to mean something in the development of the match. Both Jason and Invader took some big bumps out to the floor in this and I liked Jason's knee strikes and big clothesline a lot. They did the bit with Invader selling his ass off on the floor, which built to a good sunset flip near fall. I also thought the ref bumps in this were really good as they were timed for maximum dramatic effect, making you think Invader was going to get screwed because of them, and instead it just kept Jason alive long enough for Invader to eat a flying headbutt off the ropes with the mask for the fall. Good match. TNT squash was fine. Gran Mendoza & Bob Heffernan vs. "Jumpin" Joe Savoldi & Ricky Sexton This was better than I would have thought. The faces got in some fun offense on the shine and the heels bumped well for it. I liked the heel control a lot too. Not enough to nominate, but decent tv match. The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood vs. El Satanico & El Vikingo Fake Satanico is something else. This match is what you think it is. Armando Salgado & Super Medico (Jose Estrada) vs. El Demonio & El Satanico Waste of time. Cackling Big Red Reese promo followed up by a midget promo was something else. this is followed by clips of a savage midget on midget crime. The Mendoza/Heffernan competitive squashes and matches are not bad. Gran Mendoza & Bob Heffernan vs. Armando Salgado & Super Medico Medico was really fun in this as a ball of energy and excitment who was ready to go to war on a drop of a dime. This had some really fun moments, and I also liked the way they set up the finish and the execution of it, but it wasn't long enough. Clips of Miguel Perez and Reese being screwed over and attacked by Heffernan, Mendoza and Profe are shown. Good action. Mighty Igor vs. Assassin #2 Igor throws about 90 headbutts in this. My favorite part of this was when Igor whipped Assassin into the ropes so he could apply a bearhug. For some reason this horribly dangerous hold brought out TNT who put the chokehold on Igor. This leads to a massive locker room clearing brawl. TNT v. Joe Savoldi JIP and it's a shame because what we have is awesome. Savoldi gets in some offense an then gets cut down and worked over. The crowd is packed and going nuts for him to come back as TNT chokes him down to size. TNT takes a big turnbuckle bump and Savoldi rattles off some more 80's flashy offense. TNT is reeling, but he cuts Savoldi back down and locks on the Cobra Clutch as Profe leaps up and down in joy at ringside. This ruled, but probably is no more than half of the match. Possible EXTRA
May 27, 20169 yr comment_5754970 We start with the January 17 evening show at its new 6pm time slot. Due to what happened in the morning show we are starting off with the Invader 1 vs. Jason TV title match. Invader 1 vs. Jason for the TV title with no time limit. It’s interesting to see how Invader’s matches defending the TV title on TV are compared to his arena matches. He has had matches with guys he has been feuding with at the arenas that have been hatre filled brawls, but he faces those same guys on TV and they tend to be more straight up wrestling matches when defending the tv title on television. It occurred in his match with Al Perez, and it happens here against Jason. Jason manages to win with a masked headbutt and takes the title. TV taping this Wednesday. El Profe, Heffernan and Mendoza interview about their upcoming matches. Card rundown of tomorrow’s card in Caguas. TNT squash win over Pedro Santos.
