Grey moved up to challenge for the teenager's British welterweight title, and this was a super match. Both guys came off as excellent athletes -- quick with exceptional balance. Collins built his early attack around all kinds of neat wrist-control moves, while Grey countered with snapmares and neck cranks. Both did a good job selling the accruing damage of those respective attacks. I liked the way the first two falls came from moments of opportunism rather than dominant advantages. It conveyed how close the match-up was. I also liked how they kept branching out in their attacks after the early stuff failed to pay off. They built real suspense over who would win and then paid it off with a clean finish. This might have been my favorite WOS match that I've seen so far. Easy nomination.

 

WOS V2 16

This was easily the best Collins match I've seen. It was a British Welterweight title match and Grey brought all sorts of intensity to the bout as challenger. The only problem with it was that it went the full 12 rounds and was cut to pieces for TV. What aired was excellent, but it jumped around a bit.
