Satanico v. Samurai Shiro 7/30/84

Won of the most well know lucha matches from the 80's, a hair match between Koshinaka and Satanico. First fall is pretty one sided Koshinaka as he jumps Satanico at the bell and overwhelms him, second fall is all Satanico as he posts Shiro and makes him bleed. Third fall is more back and forth with both guys bleeding and a bunch of near falls. Finish is a little BS with Satanico faking a foul to take Shiro's hair. I don't think this is going to finish high on my ballot, although it is something that should make a set.

Samurai Shiro/Cacharro Mendoza/Kamakazi Misawa v. El Dandy./Fuerza Guerrera/Coloso Colosetti 8/6/84?

This isn't as good as you would hope a match with this level of talent should be, but people would dig seeing Misawa on the set, and this is quite a bit better then the other Misawa match. It has some cool Dandy and Fuerza moments too, and Shiro was fired up post hair loss. Consider this a mild recommendation.

Satanico/Herodes/Jerry Estrada v. Rayo De Jalisco Jr./Mogur/Quazar

Great rudo team working at about 50% capacity. Estrada takes some nutty bumps, and Herodes is really agile for his size. Still not much from your technico team worth noting, and an inessential match overall

Lizmark/Ringo Mendoza/Mascara Ano 2000 v. El Faron/La Fiera/Sangre Chicana

There was some cool Lizmark v. Fiera exchanges, and Chicana looked good, but this was another basic underwhelming match

El Satanico/Espectro Jr. v. El Faron/La Fiera 8/12/84?

Here we go, this is a nasty brawl with Satanico gushing blood and brawling like a motherfucker. The Faron/Fiera team unloads some really nasty moves, a sick piledriver on Espectro Jr., and a presslamming Satanico face first on his knee. The VQ is dicey, so we are going to want to see if a better version exists anywhere. Setworthy for sure

Satanico v. Samurai Shiro 7/30/84

Haven't watched this in a few years. The 80's NJ set soured me on Koshinaka, and I wasn't blown away by him here, but he looked good, generally held my interest, and did some cool-looking stuff. He gets some nice height on the butt butt, has a cool top rope kneedrop, ate the post well, bled to my satisfaction, etc. Still, Satanico kinda smokes him when he takes over, and I ended up wishing he get more time on offense. But I gotta review the match I saw, not the one I wanted to see, and the match I saw was still pretty damn great. This moves forward.

Samurai Shiro/Cacharro Mendoza/Kamakazi Misawa v. El Dandy./Fuerza Guerrera/Coloso Colosetti 8/6/84?

I'm not opposed to including this for people who want the novelty of lucha Misawa, but as an extra rather than as a match.

Satanico/Herodes/Jerry Estrada v. Rayo De Jalisco Jr./Mogur/Quazar

Four guys I really like and Mogur managing to be not terrible. Still, not really anything special.

Lizmark/Ringo Mendoza/Mascara Ano 2000 v. El Faron/La Fiera/Sangre Chicana

One expects a lot more from this lineup than what we got here.

El Satanico/Espectro Jr. v. El Faron/La Fiera 8/12/84?

The VQ is a big problem, but it's still not hard to see how great this was. Satanico is a king with his brawling and bleeding, but everyone looked great in this. La Fiera looks like a guy whose rep will benefit a ton from this set. He threw hands as well as Satanico, had a lot of nasty-looking offense, and wasn't afraid to almost kill himself with that tope to nowhere at the end of the match. I think he actually faceplanted on the floor off of that. Ouch. All this, plus Espectro Jr. gets ganso bombed. Slam dunk pick.

Already seen Satanico/Shiro and I was disappointed with the other matches other than this one.

El Faraon & La Fiera vs. Espectro Jr. & Satanico (August 1984)

VQ is shaky here but it's still very watchable. The rudos kick Faraon's ass here to start as Satanico is especially vicious until Fiera shows up making a fiery save teeing off on the rudos. We get juice from Satanico as the tecnicos kick ass here as much like the rudos which is great. This is really some good shit as Satanico is a crimson mask and Espectro is fun trying to save his partner from being killed. Satanico finally fights back and it becomes a battle between him & Fiera on who can take the most punishment although Espectro Jr. eating a fucking ganso bomb was awesome. Damn the Fiera tope suicida to the floor almost killed him as he hit all fucking floor headfirst. This is just violent back and forth action but as the match went on the VQ problem grew to be bigger and knowing Will it might be a big issue when it comes to decision time. Solid nomination even with the VQ though.
