Alfredo listed this as the third fall, but it actually felt more like a first fall where we didn't see the end. Some cool stuff, but obviously incomplete Los Brazos vs. Ultraman/Super Halcon/Kung Fu (Arena Mexico, Recap) Fun clips, would love to see the match Satanico vs. Pirata Morgan (Hair Match from Arena Mexico, Recap with 3rd Fall) Only about 2 minutes, but man I want to see the match Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs. Fishman (Arena Mexico) Lucha title match which has a very specific feel to it. First two falls are pretty quick (and might be clipped, it is hard to tell) but we get a long pretty cool third fall with some nice dives and lots of dramatic near falls. I really liked Fishman's reversal of the backbreaker into the pin, and Rayo's huge plancha was huge. Finish was your standard Navarro/Solar double pin, which I am a little sick of now, but I don't think will be overused on this set. Solid Nomination Jerry Estrada vs. Javier Cruz (Hair Match from Arena Mexico) Already reviewed Kendo/Villano I vs. Fishman/Lobo Rubio (Arena Toluca, 2nd & 3rd Falls Only!) We only get two falls here, and it is always fun to watch Kendo do his thing, the rest of this wasn't much and it would have to be great to put this on JIP Mil Mascaras/Dos Caras/Canek vs. Los Tigres Del Ring (Scorpio Sr./Babe Face/Luis Mariscal) (Arena Toluca) Not a great match, but we don't have a ton of UWA footage and a solid match with the Caras brothers, Canek and some fun bumping heels feels like something that should at least get a nomination. I really liked the first fall, but the second two falls were pretty short. Mild nomination
December 18, 201113 yr comment_5490351 Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs. Fishman (Arena Mexico) This had some cool stuff, but overall left me uninspired. Good, but not nomination good. Mil Mascaras/Dos Caras/Canek vs. Los Tigres Del Ring (Scorpio Sr./Babe Face/Luis Mariscal) (Arena Toluca) I can understand wanting to rep UWA, Mil, Dos, and Canek, but surely there's a better way than this. I thought this match was completely unremarkable. If we're really starving for UWA big name representation, I'd rather starve than gorge on empty calories like this.
July 11, 201213 yr comment_5509948 Sucks we don't have the Brazos or Satanico/Pirata matches in full they looked great. NWA Lt. Heavyweight Title: Rayo de Jalisco Jr. © vs. Fishman (9/19/86) This is from the 53rd Anniversario and from Japanese TV. There is some clipping here which hurts on this set because we have so many matches that aren't clipped to choose from. I'm on the SLL side here as while I think we saw a good match especially for these two it wasn't a blowaway singles title match like almost all the others we have. I'm going no on the nomination. Caballera contra Caballera: Javier "El Monarca" Cruz vs. "El Puma" Jerry Estrada (10/20/89) Estrada looks like the Mexican Chris Champion here with just as much drug use. Jerry looks like he is completely blitzed here in the 1st fall as he is discombobulated fucking up moves and not even bumping right with the fans getting on his ass booing him. Javier does a damn good job of keeping this going hitting a huge plancha to the floor as the fans started to get restless and took the 1st fall by countout. Jerry starts recovering in the 2nd fall as I guess the blood woke him up but I was thinking about Cruz and how he needed to go to a doctor after the match to get tested. Estrada looks good brawling on the floor as he posts Cruz forcing him to juice which Estrada would wipe from his head and into his mouth which was fantastic and sick at the same time. Estrada would even it up with a huge senton off the top which he almost fell off trying to execute. The 3rd fall is pretty great here as these guys are bloody and are putting it all on the line to win with some wild bumps and crazy dives not to mention some high impact moves. The Cruz missile dropkick from the top to the floor was completely fucking insane. Also the crowd finally got into the match here as these guys were killing each other and then you had the Estrada posting himself bump which was so great. The finish was pretty good as well and this match is a definite nomination. Kendo & Villano I vs. Fishman & Lobo Rubio (1985) This was clipped. Canek/Dos Caras/Mil Mascaras vs. Los Tigres del Ring (Babe Face/Luis Mariscal/Scorpio) (1985) Too much on the short side for me although this was fun for what it was. Not a nomination.
