Matt Borne vs. Rip Oliver

- After the two segments leading to this match, if this doesn’t have gallons of blood flowing, I’ll be disappointed. OK, Borne is the first to get busted open. So far, so good. Oliver is just killing that cut. When Borne fights back, he rams Oliveer into the ring post and I have a feeling he will be swimming in blood soon too… yep there it goes. Borne is a sadistic fuck hitting that cut… with a sweet discus punch. Shit, inside the ring, Borne could have won the match but he wants to punish Rip so he keeps pulling him up and pounds on him some more. The match just kind of ends in a pull-apart brawl but these guys beat the shit out of each other for a good ten minutes. A bloody Rip does an interview after the match. Nomination.

They had done a great job of establishing the hatred between these guys, and this match was a perfect TV payoff. They delivered ample blood and great punches, especially Borne's discus shot from the foor. Borne had a way of moving that suggested authenticity, like his shots came from the kind of angles that would occur in a real fight. I totally bought his refusal to accept a pin. This might not blow people away, but paired with the promos, it's an ideal demo of how to do a wrestling fight. Nomination.
