Posted March 27, 201114 yr comment_5468431 Fishman v. Tiger Mask 6/12/83 It was a Sayama match, not as bad as his worst, probably not as good as his best. He only blew one spot, and he did get big ups on a flying headbutt. I think there might have been a clip in the middle as Fishman is on offense after they replay the headbutt. We already have pretty good evidence that folks aren't buying Sayama's shit, so I see no need to put this on a lucha set. TM match from Japan Lizmark v El Satanico 12/02/83 Both OJ and Loss have written a bunch about this match, and I basically agree with them, that is a match with great performances by great wrestlers, but not a great match. First fall grappling was great, and the second fall Lizmark bulldozing was awesome, but it did make Satanico a little weak, as he was never able to get a sustained advantage on Lizmark. Third fall had its moments (the Satanico bump, into the Lizmark plancha was as good as that spot has been done) but the finish was unsatisfying. Certainly will make a set, and I will be interested to see where it finishes. Los Javieres (Americo Rocca/Javier Cruz/Chamaco Valaguez) vs. Los Bravos (El Dandy/Guerrero Negro/Talisman) (March 1987) Two damn good teams going to battle here and even though Dandy is the clear star the other guys hold their own and everything works here. Plus you get blood from Cruz which I wasn't expecting and it added more to the match. The intensity was really strong to go along with the fast pace not to mention the crazy dives and bumps by both teams. The finish was great as well and fit in with how the match was going and this is a solid nomination. Los Infernales (Masakre/MS-1/Satanico) vs. La Fiera/Rayo de Jalisco Jr./Tony Salazar (March 1987) Damn are the Infernales some hateful fucks here as they brutalize the tecnicos early with Satanico being especially evil. The match was building to a future Rayo/MS-1 singles match for the Mexican National Lt. Heavyweight Title but Fiera & Satanico didn't care about that and they stole the show although Salazar held his own. This version of the Infernales was the best version IMO mainly thanks to Masakre as MS-1 & Satanico were great but Masakre was the glue that held everything together. Salazar was fun here as well with his great tope reversa while Rayo was fired up when he was on offense and I loved his hair sticking out of his ripped mask looking like Kahoz. I dug this a lot and this moves forward as a strong low-end pick. Tony Arce/Blue Panther/Vulcano vs. Rokambole (Villano V)/Solar II/Stuka (March 1987) This was a fun midcard match showing some future stars but it was too short for me. Everyone worked hard and there was some fun action but it could've been better.
