Posted March 27, 201115 yr comment_5468432 Both OJ and Loss have written a bunch about this match, and I basically agree with them, that is a match with great performances by great wrestlers, but not a great match. First fall grappling was great, and the second fall Lizmark bulldozing was awesome, but it did make Satanico a little weak, as he was never able to get a sustained advantage on Lizmark. Third fall had its moments (the Satanico bump, into the Lizmark plancha was as good as that spot has been done) but the finish was unsatisfying. Certainly will make a set, and I will be interested to see where it finishes. July 7, 201213 yr comment_5509572 The date is wrong here as 12/2/83, Satanico won the title. He came into this match as the defending champion. NWA Middleweight Title: Satanico © vs. Lizmark (April 1984) The 1st fall is all matwork basically as both men are trying to get the best of each other with Lizmark looking awesome and Satanico carrying his end but not getting much in as he mainly played defense. The 2nd fall sees more Lizmark dominance including hitting two sweet piledrivers that Satanico sells like he was fucking shot with an AK-47. Satanico would basically luck himself into winning the fall as he countered a Lizmark rana with a powerbomb to even the sides. Satanico would start the 3rd fall running for Lizmark but hitting all corner taking a hard bump which was cool. The guys are working hard here but it's not clicking like you would want in a match here between these two although there were some great spots like Satanico taking a wicked bump to the floor followed up by Lizmark hitting a fucking great plancha to the floor. Both men would then try to put the other one away before Lizmark pinned himself with a tapatia as we got a double pinfall making this a draw. The finish was what it was and this match could've been better but it was still a really good match and should move forward but mainly as a low-end nomination.
October 10, 201213 yr comment_5516989 This is certainly good enough to make a set. But I would agree that it's underwhelming given who's involved. A solid nomination, but not much more.
August 7, 201312 yr comment_5555134 Lizmark v El Satanico, 12/02/83 (CLASSIC LUCHA 2) - Early on, feeling out and some nice matwork, really fluid applying and escaping holds. The head scissors-Boston Crab standoff was AWESOME! I loved everything about the first fall… just a beauriful dance where Satanico gets caught in an Andre wrothy butterfly suplex for the Lizmark pin. - 2nd fall, Fuerza is on the outside, trying to help Satanico regain his senses. Lizmark goes on the attack and does some nice work on the neck to continue his edge from the 1st fall. He even drop a couple of piledrivers that look like the end of Satanico but Satanico gets lucky when he catches Lizmark into a powerbomb 9in fucking 1983) to even the 2nd fall. Satanico didn’t just win the 2nd fall, he escaped it. - 3rd fall, Satanico on the attack again and both guys trade momentum shifts and near falls. The work here has been beautiful with both guys hittig the mark until Satanico misses Lizmark and takes a nasty dive outside. Man, that finish with the double pin kind of ruined the good vibes but I thought the work was awesome. No botched moves, everything was executed clean and some truly memorable moments mixed in. Easy nomination from where I stand. EDIT: Just read the thoughts and the finish was the only thing I thought was underwhelming. I have been on the phone with Phil when he was marked out for matwork that wasn't this good. Should make the set without argument.
