Bloodless, which is a little weird, and more cool spots and moments then hideous violence. The cool spots and moments were fucking cool spots and moments, there was an awesome moment where Chicana side stepped a kick and landed his awesome hook, and there was some crowd clearing dives. It will be interesting to see where this finishes, 1983 will be #1, and I am wondering whether this placement will be helped or hurt in comparison Classic Lucha From the 80's Vol 4
December 14, 201113 yr comment_5490172 I haven't the '83 match in a few years, so I'd like to think I'm watching this relatively free of the inevitable comparisons one would make to it's more famous, highly-acclaimed brother. And well, accepted on it's own merits, this is a top shelf match. Bloodless, sure, and I suppose that will hurt it overall, but I don't think this was lacking in brutality at all. Sangre Chicana is a man who knows how to make a tope look angry, that's for damn sure. We'll judge where it ranks in comparison to the '83 match later. Right now, the important thing is that this is a slam dunk nomination.
July 8, 201213 yr comment_5509638 Caballera contra Caballera: Sangre Chicana vs. MS-1 (9/21/84) Now we are at the 1984 Anniversario show with the rematch of the epic main event the year before with two of the best in the world at this time. The previous match was probably the match of the decade in Mexico and to their credit the wrestlers decided not to have a carbon copy of that match but had a different style of match. This match wasn't built on blood and guts like the other one but it was more based on skills with both men trying to prove to the other one who was the better man. MS-1 definitely wanted to get a win here as revenge from last year and he gave his all here but so did Chicana who wanted to maintain his dominance over MS-1 and it led to some fantastic action. The dives here were vicious especially Chicana's tope suicida which ended the match as he KOed MS-1 forcing a countout. This was a great match and a definite nomination.
