Posted August 8, 201015 yr comment_5454148 This was just a great old 6 man tag where everyone looks good. This was just a super bout with loads of awesome work from all involved. All 3 falls were really good. Again the psychology of working certain body parts were in full effect here. Both the faces and the heels told a great story in the ring. Plus in the final fall with the bloodying up of Rose and working the cut was really well done and added a little extra heat to The Clan/Rose feud. I thought Sawyer's Thesz Press was swank to end the 2nd fall, he got some height on it. The 1st fall where the babyfaces shined was great, and then when Pritchard was the FIP he did a good job there. Overall some really inspired work and a nomination.
March 29, 201114 yr comment_5468562 Oliver, Assassin & Wiskowski vs. Rose, Sawyer & Pritchard - Damn, the butt drop on the arm gets me every time. Good face shine working on Oliver’s arm. The faces are masters at cutting the ring off and I am loving this. So smart, so logical, so simple… the way wrestling should be. When Assassin gets tagged in, he gets the same treatment and more smart work form the faces. Eventually Pritchard stays in too long and he gets his ass kicked. Ed’s body slams look devastating.They work on Pritchard’s back but after a kick to Ed’s face, he makes the hot tag. Sawyer eventually gets laid out with a powerslam from Ed and a flying headbutt from Assassin. Really hot 1st fall, following the Portland formula and a solid nom in and of itself. - 2nd fall, Sawyer selling the damaged shoulder to start the fall but the heels smell blood and work over the shoulder. I love how every time, Brett Wayne gets a desperation pin, Ed just reaches in and yanks him off. Also love how Assassin plans on hitting another headbbutt, only to miss allowing for the hot tag to… Brett Wayne? Shit, I think I was confusing Pritchard and Sawyer the whole time. Whatever, the faces even it up. - 3rd fall, Rose is getting his ass beat and he is bloodied up after a spill to the floor. Attacking the cut? Check. As a pier 6 breaks out, Oliver gets the foreign object, pop Rose in the face and gets the pin. Another easy nomination! A bloody Rose interview follows that will be included.
June 15, 201114 yr comment_5473483 Another Portland match where the first fall could have pulled a nomination on its own. The early arm work by the faces was top-notch, and I dug Pritchard's face-in-peril work. Wiskowski always made a nice addition to the heel side because his offense came off as really devastating. The working of Buddy's cut made a nice capper after he was a more tangential figure in the earlier falls. The actual finish came out of nowhere but fit the ongoing storyline of the Rose vs. Oliver feud. Strong match overall and an easy choice for the set.
July 14, 201213 yr comment_5510162 All the face shine stuff is really good as I am a mark for arm work especially of a varied sort that mixes technique with nastiness and violence. Wiwskowski is an evil son of a bitch in this and is just heaving motherfuckers across the ring with slams and then destroys the ring with a violent whip of Pritchard into the corner. NIce hope spot with Pritchard in the corner but he ends up getting heaved to the floor. Fucking Pritchard makes the hot tag off of a spinning back kick and Sawyer comes in hot but whiffs on the third dropkick and Wiskowski crushes him with a powerslam. Assassin hits his diving headbutt for the first fall. Gotta love Sawyer trying to do a rope assisted back flip escape early and still getting put on his ass. Sawyer is a good punch drunk FIP and the heel team keeps it fresh and entertaining. Buddy gets the hot tag and the faces get a nice near fall of of a double dropkick. Pritchard ends with his turn as the FIP and he is just as good as Sawyer. Assassin goes for a diving headbutt but whiffs and Sawyer gets tagged in and hits a sweet Thesz Press for the fall. Third fall is Buddy bloodied and the heels targeting it. I especially loved Wiskowski stalking around and shit talking between shots. All hell breaks loose and Oliver uses the thumb on Rose for the fall. Another good Portland tag with another finish that left me a bit empty. Still this is going on the set.
