Posted March 30, 201114 yr comment_5468606 Roddy Piper sitdown morning show interview. This was pretty entertaining. EXTRA Great Portland news special on wrestling with Dutch Savage, Billy Jack, et. EXTRA Hilarious Buddy Rose and Mega Maharishie fashion show on a morning tv show. EXTRA Buddy Rose v. Roddy Piper This was basically a balls to the wall sprint and could have been great if it was five minutes longer. Buddy blades seconds into this and takes some fun bumps. Piper throws hands like you want Piper to throw hands and takes a sick bump of his own over the top. Rose beats the shit out of Piper with a water pitcher on the floor. Piper is pretty good working underneath, but Rose is great kicking Piper in the nuts and just generally being an asshole. Finish with the superplex attempt leading to a Piper press was one of the better executed versions of that I"ve seen even if it was sort of unsatisfying. Good match, notable as a match Piper worked on loan from the WWF. This should make the set. Sgt. Slaughter v. Kendo Nagasaki Slaughter's opening offense is fine but this is Slaughter and you want to see him bump like a crazy man more than anything. Sure enough he takes a crazy man bump and goes on defense. Anyhow this match is okay and ends with interference from Maharishie. Larry/Curt Hennig v. Road Warriors The DQ finish kind of ruins this. I was digging the story of Curt being left alone after daddy gets destroyed on the floor but the DQ finish really comes out of nowhere and was a major let down. Mike Miller v. Rick Martel Martel did some decent things in this and I liked the Boston Crab use down the stretch but Miller was boring as piss on offense for the most part. Ric Flair v. Billy Jack Haynes So I was talking to Will earlier today about how the term "Flair match" gets thrown around too much, but this is pretty much a Flair match. Flair cheating, showing his ass, eating press slams, theatrical selling, getting into a shoving match with the ref, et. This may have been clipped though I don't know where the clipping would have been done. Anyhow there were some cool moments in this, but I don't see it as a serious contender.
