Posted April 6, 201114 yr comment_5469218 Tommy Rogers v. Ali Hasaan This is odd as Rogers sells the whiplash of a criss cross spot or something early? On the plus side the evil Arab has "OIL" on the ass of his trunks which is pretty great. Rogers works the arm in a pretty decent fashion. He barely got over on a leapfrog but that actually made the follow up dropkick look better. The high knee Rogers took to set up the heat segment ruled and the Sheiks' cross ring diving fist drop was impressive. Rogers has a brief flurry that includes a nice suplex, but goes back on the defensive and eats a double knee drop to his back. Rogers gets caught with an airplane spin into a Samoan Drop for the finish. This was a lot better than I would have guessed. Mike Miller v. Steve Pardee This was okay but on paper should have been better. They botched a few things and neither guy looked as sharp as they usually do. Buddy Rose/Rip Oliver promo. Rose "go home" promo before the Cage match. He guarantees victory or he will leave the Pacific Northwest forever. Buddy Rose v. David Schultz (Cage Match, Loser Leaves Town) Oliver and sawyer are handcuffed to the Cage which looks fucking huge in the Portland Sports Arena. Cool visual with Buddy trying to escape early and the Cage being so big relative to the building that you can't even see all of Rose as Schultz pulls him down. Rose gets beat to shit early and takes a nice piledriver for a near fall. Buddy is a bloody mess and goes to the balls to take over on offense. I enjoyed Rose's control segment in large part because of how rabid the crowd was for every near fall. Schultz makes a comeback and Rose tries to escape but Oliver ends up throwing knucks to Rose who wins. Not a great match but I feel like this should probably be on the set. Post-match brawl was fun. David Schultz promo post-match. Don Owen comes out and books a tag match between the four parties involved in the Cage Match. EXTRA The Assassin v. Brett Sawyer (2/3 Falls) Assassin ends up getting DQ'ed to end a pretty uninteresting first fall. This goes to a draw. Yuck. Brett Sawyer promo.
