They spike piledrive him on a chair until the High Flyers hit the ring. Birds post-match interview is a lot of fun. Possible EXTRA Bill Irwin v. Bryan O'reilly Super fun competitive squash. Really great near falls. Irwin was brutally stiff at points but also gave O'reilly enough to really make him look good. This was good stuff, but not quite enough to merit a nomination. Ric Flair promo. Sgt. Slaughter training Gagne we have this elsewhere. Verne announces Sgt. Slaughter as Ric Flair's opponent for a title match in New York area. EXTRA Rick Martel gets a sportsman of the year award. Michael Hayes shows up and says the Birds deserve the award. Martel ends up slapping Hayes. EXTRA Sgt. Slaughter/Greg Gagne v. Apollo Athens/Blue Mask Man Gagne was an offensive machine here, hitting a nice dropkick, some good arm drags, and a great monkey flip. Really the heels deserve the credit for bumping around for it so great, but Gagne looked good too. The guy in the blue mask must have pissed off Sarge because he just destroys him working over his guts nastily. Gagne ends up missing a dropkick and briefly goes FIP until the Blue Mask faceplants on a headbutt attempt. Finish is Sarge pressing Gagne onto Mask. This was fun. Boris Zhukov v. Larry Winters Zhukov really destroys Winters here. Seriously Winters takes a fucking crazy bump to the floor and lands in the first row. Zhukov wins with a shoulder breaker. Rick Martel promo. Larry and Nick are really fun as a heel team and man does Larry throw some sick knees. Nasty spike piledriver too. Sgt. Slaughter v. Kaluha Match cuts off Bob Backlund promo. The Freebirds v. O'reilly Brothers/Larry Winters This was yet another fun competitive squash. The execution was not as good here, but the heel tactics were really rich and the finish was really cool. Freebirds promo.
