Posted April 11, 201114 yr comment_5469641 This starts with clips of Mr. Kareem Muhammad destroying TNT before a match. Hercules Ayala & Mr. Kareem Muhammad vs. Jumbo Barretta & Black Magic (Norman Smiley) (October 1987) Fun seeing the Florida guys here but they get squashed. Gran Mendoza vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. (October 1987) This is JIP and was fine for what it was. Next we get clips from a Ron Starr match from 1986. Then we get clips of a Colon/Ayala bloodbath. Carlos Colon & TNT vs. The Crusher (Rip Morgan) & Stanley Ross (October 1987) Squash. Puerto Rican Heavyweight Title: Mr. Kareem Muhammad © vs. Miguel Perez Jr. (October 1987) Miguel would use his quickness to get Kareem on the mat early in the match where he started working over his left leg aggressively both on the mat then kicking it at will when Kareem tried to get up. Miguel shows lots of fire before missing a reverse splash off the middle rope allowing Kareem to drop a big elbow to win the match. Fun little match with Kareem selling almost the whole match then capitalizing on a mistake to win. Next we get a Chicky Starr's Sport Shop with Grizzly Boone. The Wild Samoans (Fatu & Samoan Savage) vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. & ? (October 1987) I didn't catch the other guy's name but he was destroyed. TNT vs. Destroyer #2 (October 1987) Squash. Next we get clips of Invader II vs. Ron Starr from 10/24/87.

November 11, 201311 yr comment_5571935 The clip of Muhammed beating down TNT is okay. Hercules Ayala & Mr. Kareem Muhammad vs. Jumbo Barretta & Black Magic (Norman Smiley) I just want to note that Smiley looks EXACTLY the same here as he did in WCW ten plus years later. Match was nothing of note. Gran Mendoza vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. WWC was a strange promotion at times. Why the hell was this JIP and then why the hell did they run a commercial break during the match? Just seems like an odd match for either of those things. Anyway I liked Mendoza in this. His attempted scramble to the floor was amusing and he threw all these weird strikes, including pointed elbows and these strange knees and punches where he was sort of walking/falling through them onto a downed Castillo. Castillo's punching combo comeback looked good too and Mendoza was bumping and stooging around like a complete nut. Castillo almost killed himself and Mendoza on a splash at one point. Mendoza ended up winning with a clothesline off the top. This was actually an entertaining match, but in more of an "off the wall" way than a "going to be on an 80's Set" way. I wouldn't have said "absolutely not" if KrisZ had nominated this, but nothing about this compels me to make a case for it either. Ron Starr v. ? I don't know who this was against. Its a pseudo-squash, but was fun and the other guy got enough offense where I feel like I should have recognized him. Clips of Ayala/Colon match. Offhand I'm not sure which one this is, but there will be a couple which will make the set, the notable thing here is Invader 3 chasing Chicky to the top of scaffold while Kareem Muhammed hits the ring and puts the boots to a bloody Colon until TNT makes the save. EXTRA Carlos Colon & TNT vs. The Crusher (Rip Morgan) & Stanley Ross I know it's a squash but since it's the super team of faces I figured I'd watch it. Colon really does have fun offense. This really wasn't much, but cool to see the face team in action. This starts with a series of clips from bigger shows outlining the feud between Chicky, Ayala and Kareem and Colon, TNT and Invader 3. Doesn't really feel like an extra. Puerto Rican Heavyweight Title: Mr. Kareem Muhammad © vs. Miguel Perez Jr. This match had good psychology, but of all the matches to get in complete and get a decent amount of time this one? This was well structured and the finish was amusing, but this was more passable than good. Grizzly Boone Flower Shop was pretty amusing The Wild Samoans (Fatu & Samoan Savage) vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. & ? I put fourth zero effort into finding out who Castillo's partner was. This had some really fun "Samoans unprofessionally beat the fuck out of guys" spots, including a spot with Savage leaping off of Fatu's back for a clothesline and the finishing combo. There is a 2-on-1 Grizzly Boone squash in here TNT vs. Destroyer #2 TNT won in short order. Invader II v. Ron Starr JIP. Always nice to see evidence that Invader II exists. This is held in a really poorly attended stadium show. Only a couple of minutes are shown, of decent action, but nothing special.
November 11, 201311 yr comment_5571992 Funny you should mention that it's always nice to see evidence that Invader II exists. When I started watching regularly, the Invaders were 1 and 4, with 3 only having recently left (he was still mentioned and shown in some flashback segments and was on the video releases). They never really talked about Invader 2 or showed anything with him. For the longest time I was left wondering if there ever really was an Invader 2. The same thing happened with the Super Medicos, you had 1, 3 and 4, but no 2. It got to the point where I started wondering if this was some kind of gag or something and those guys never existed. For me it was like seeing Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster when Invader 2 returned around 96-97.
