Buddy Rose/Grand Wizard promo with Vince McMahon setting up a match v. Piper to see who gets to work Flair EXTRa Chris Adams v. Mike Miller Opening to this is well done as Adams does a slick counter arm drag, some solid arm work and then Miller gets pissed and starts throwing shots with a scowl on his face. When they eventually go back to a rope running spot Miller does a good job selling terror as Adams sets for another arm drag and clutches the ropes to avoid it. Man it is really simple stuff but that really is the bedrock of this match - Miller is terrified of Adams hiplock/armdrags coming off the ropes. Miller's offense is not great, but he has good facial expressions which makes up for it. Adams wins after a pair of superkicks that has the crowd going nuts. This may not hold up, it was really simplistic, and there were no big time spots, but I'm going to pass this along for now. Paul Ellering promo. Rip Oliver/Ali Hassan/Assassin v. Brett Sawyer/Steve Pardee/Terry Gibbs (2/3 Falls) The faces take turns working the arm of all the heels early, but Brett ends up getting decked with a big lariat from the Assassin and goes FIP. Sawyer took a huge over the top bump off of an atomic drop from Oliver and the crowd is really hot for him. Hot tag comes off of a botched spot that actually looked cool as Sawyer went for a leapfrog and ended up doing a leg lariat on accident. Gibbs ends up getting caught with a double clothesline behind the refs back for the heels to take the first fall. Decent stuff. 2nd Fall is Gibbs in peril and the early heel work is not terribly impressive but the crowd is super hot for it. Cool spot with Gibbs fighting to win a suplex battle and scrambling to make the tag to Sawyer who comes in and runs through a series of dropkicks while the crowd continues to go fucking bananas. Sawyer ends up hitting a huge flying elbow on Assassin and they do some fun interference spots that build to Assassin dropping the fall. Second half of this fall was really fucking fun. Third fall opens with another accidental heel hitting another heel spot, this time with Assassin kicking Oliver right off the apron. Assassin ends up in a headlock which the babyfaces do some cool shit with. Assassin seriously gets his ass kicked in this fall up until Sawyer goes for a suplex on the apron but it gets blocked and he gets slammed. Sawyer does his awesome through the ropes bump again. Then Hassan hits a diving boot to his gut while he is on the floor. God damn Sawyer is over as his slow bridge out hope spot got a massive response, as did his Irish Whip reversal. Cool spot with Oliver holding onto Sawyer as he clutches for his corner and Hassan dropping the double knees. Sawyer takes another really awesome, dramatic, slow motion bump to the floor. Really good near fall on an Assassin backbreaker. Pardee gets the hot tag. He's got Hassan reeling, but Oliver gets the tag. Slight flub off a drop down spot and Oliver hits the shoulderbeaker for the finish. There were some flubs in this and some down time, but Sawyer was really great, and I thought this was one of those matches that got better as it went along. Assassin/Oliver/Hassan promo. Sawyer/Gibbs/Pardee promo. The Assassin v. Jesse Barr JIP. This was a lot of fun, but is nowhere near full. Chris Colt v. Jesse Barr Again I like Colt. He is just a sickly looking freak. I mean totally methed out looking. He takes some fun bumps in this, heels his ass off, jaws with the crowd, et. Barr was supposed to the bet the star here, but he really didn't feel like a star. Finish to this was well done. Rip Oliver v. Jesse Barr This is really fun early as they do a lot of shit off the ropes, some nice execution and Rip is really strong keeping pace with Barr. The crowd is super into this and they do a lot of comedicesque spots out of holds, with Barr controlling the arm. Oliver takes over with a short elbow. Cool spot with Barr powering out of a camel clutch and dropping Rip into the turnbuckles. Crowd is really hot and he starts to rattle off some offense but whifs on a dropkick. Cool spot with Barr rolling through on a reverse crossbody that Oliver had ducked on and hitting some big offense, only to hit the post on a corner charge, leading to the Rip shoulder breaker. Really fun tv match that I would like to see make the set.
