Posted April 22, 201114 yr comment_5470278 Rokambole/Siglo XX v. Pierroth/Commando Russo Solid undercard tag, and it is fun to check out a younger Pierroth and younger Villano V, but it was unessential. Americo Rocca/Cacharro Mendoza/Kung Fu v. Los Bravos (Talisman/El Dandy/Guerrero Negro) I really enjoy watching the Bravos do their thing. Dandy was really good pretty early in his career. Kung Fu is also one of my favorite guys to watch for this set, and when he gets on a roll with his shitick it is pretty great. This had some good mat wrestling, fast exchanges and nice finishing dives. Third fall drags a bit, but this was good stuff. Nomiantion Babyface/Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000 v. Lizmark/Rayo De Jalisco/La Fiera Another chapter in the Fiera v. Babyface feud. Really fun violent stuff with the rudos laying waste to the technicos early. Bloodying them up, chucking them into chairs, and then a great technico comeback with them busting open the heels. Really good bloody lucha brawling. MS2/El Salvaje v. Hectatombe/Sombra Poblana Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000 v. Alfonso Dantes/Kiss Javier Cruz/Kiss/Ultraman v. El Enfermo Jr./Maskare/El Egipico Some cool individual performances here, I liked Maskare a bunch and Ultraman is always worth watching. Match itself was solid but nothing that makes it a set match. Egipico isn't much, neither is Kiss
November 21, 201212 yr comment_5520702 I watched this during a brief window of time in the aftermath of Sandy where I had access to a working TV and DVD player, so I'm reserving my comments to the two matches of significance. Americo Rocca/Cacharro Mendoza/Kung Fu v. Los Bravos (Talisman/El Dandy/Guerrero Negro) Kung Fu's shtick is always either a lot of fun or really annoying. Here, it was a lot of fun, and Los Bravos did a great job playing off of it. This was a blast, feels like an easy nomination. Babyface/Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000 v. Lizmark/Rayo De Jalisco/La Fiera It kinda sounds like Phil and I watched separate matches (I know Kris watched a separate match). This one got kinda violent and kinda bloody, but not remarkably so. Still pretty good, but nothing that needs to make a set.
April 1, 201312 yr comment_5540599 Going with what I haven't seen. Rokambole (Villano V) & Siglo XX vs. Comando Ruso & Pierroth Jr. (September 1986) Fun match seeing future stars but nothing that will make a set. Americo Rocca/Cachorro Mendoza/Kung Fu vs. Los Bravos (El Dandy/Guerrero Negro/Talisman) (September 1986) Loved the rudos being scared of Kung Fu swinging the chucks before the match. Kung Fu is damn good when he is on his game and he was on it here plus working with the Bravos will make anyone look good. Dandy was such a natural and he was solid in everything he did. The others here were really good as well as we had some really good lucha action here. The 3rd fall did drag a little like Phil said and we got a DQ finish but the match as a whole was very good. This is a fairly solid nomination.
