Don Kent vs. Maelo Huertas (August 1988)

Fairly easy win for Kent who is old as dirt.

"Dirty" Dutch Mantell vs. Random guy (August 1988)

Squash.

Ricky Santana vs. Mr. Pogo (August 1988)

Nothing much to this as Pogo would just walk out.

Bart & Brad Batten vs. Random masked men (August 1988)

JIP squash.

The next show starts with clips of the recent feuds in WWC.

Next we get Chicky Starr's Sport Shop from 8/6/88 with Invader III posing as Super Medico getting his revenge on Chicky Starr bashing him in the stomach and head with a board. The cut on the back of Chicky's head is fucking intense plus you gotta love the doctor treating the cut with NO GLOVES. Extra material for sure.

Don Kent vs. Random guy (August 1988)

Squash.

Next we get Jaggers & Kroffat against two mystery masked men who ended up being Huracan & Miguel after they beat them. Extra material.

WWC Tag Titles: Kendo Nagasaki & Mr. Pogo © vs. Bruiser Brody & "Soulman" Rocky Johnson (1/30/88)

Nice of WWC to show Brody matches after his murder. The fans were molten hot for Brody here. This is another match that was clipped up some but it didn't matter anyway as it wasn't nomination material although it was fun watching Brody swing the kendo stick.

"Dirty" Dutch Mantell vs. Gran Mendoza (11/4/87)

Easy win for Dutch.

Carlos Colon & The Great Kabuki vs. The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) (11/30/85)

Now this is quite the tag team. Yet again we get a big clip in the middle here but this was fun for what it was.

Don Kent vs. Maelo Huertas

Question - why the fuck was Huertas never pushed? The guy always worked hard in these matches, would often get some really good offense in and then went nowhere. At times it seemed like they were testing the idea of pushing him but it never happened and I find that puzzling because he could have been a solid mid-carder for them. As a match this wasn't great or anything, but was fairly competitive and had some good exchanges. It definitely leaves you puzzled as to why Kent was getting the win over Huertas at this point.

Dutch is awesome and his squash was fun.

Ricky Santana vs. Mr. Pogo

I actually think these two had good chemistry and I would like to find a cache of their stadium show matches. This had a good pace to it and was well worked with Santana getting some solid stuff in on the front end, before Pogo cut him down with a well timed side kick and started wrecking him with heel tactics. This didn't really have an FIP, as Santana quickly made a comeback and sent Pogo to the floor where he dropkicked him of all things. For some reason Pogo won as a result of this which was stupid and the finish and length keep this from being a nomination, but I do enjoy this feud.

Bart & Brad Batten vs. Random masked men

Fun Batten's squash here

Opening video from show two running down the big feuds is a likely EXTRA

The Chicky sports shop segment is fucking great and an easy EXTRA. The fact that they show the doctor stitching up the cut barehanded is fucking insane.

I have no clue how Kris missed this, but they show clips from a Bunkhouse Battle Royal that are fucking nuts. Santana and Pogo spill over the top to the floor and it ends up with Santana getting viciously bloodied and stretchered out. This is inthe middle of a Santana promo, but I would say needs to be an EXTRA

Kansas Jayhawks v. Unnamed Masked Men

As a segment this was actually really great. Generally speaking I am a mark for angles like this with the random masked guys being revealed to be star faces. This was worked in a completely unusual way for a match of that sort because the heels really dominated this, jumping the faces before the bell, and really not being in danger at any point until the very end when they lost on the spot off the top. For a match of this sort it needed bigger heel offense and/or more face hope spots to be a nomination, but I would say this has to be an EXTRA

Kendo Nagasaki & Mr. Pogo © vs. Bruiser Brody & "Soulman" Rocky Johnson

This match is introduced by Dutch and Hugo and opens with Brody roaming around the stadium holding a board and barking. The heels immediately get destroyed and then this settles into an actual straight tag and is worse for it. Johnson actually looked worse than Brody here and Pogo was easily the best guy in this. This wasn't terrible, but I was glad when it ended.

Dutch Mantell vs. Gran Mendoza

Mendoza is like a poor man's, Puerto Rican version of Dutch, so i was sort of excited to see this. This turned out to be pretty fun. I enjoyed the cheap shots, stalling and asshole shit from Mendoza. He was another guy that WWC didn't get enough mileage out of, as he could have been more than just a JTTS. This was actually a real match, with a heat section and everything, it just didn't end long enough. Shame to because the lariat that Mendoza ate coming off the top is something that I would have liked to justify on the set.

Can we have an entire Extra's section for Kroffat staring creepily into the camera?

Clips of some of the big feuds are shown presumably to set up one of the bit WWC shows. This includes the Starrs kicking the fuck out of Colon and Invader 3 and manny and (I think) Invader brawling. EXTRA maybe

Carlos Colon & The Great Kabuki vs. The Sheepherders

Dutch intros this shirtless from a beach with Hugo. Wow. The look on Colon's face during Kabuki's pre-match martial arts demonstration was fucking hilarious. There is indeed an edit in this but I'm not sure how much is missing as it seemed like they were still in the face shine. On the other hand the video quality gets really shoddy right as Colon hits a second rope dropkick of all things. The Herders section is handcuffed to someone at ringside but manages to knock out Kabuki with a cheapshot with a weapon while Colon has one of the Herders in a figure four. Shit breaks down as Colon tries to go it alone and gets beaten with a chair until the save is made. Fun to watch but not a nomination and I"m not sure it merits an extra either.

This sounds like it is setting up Aniversario 88.

I don't know, if a shirtless Dutch Mantel is not an extra, I don't know what is.

Maelo kind of got pushed later when he assumed the identity of Invader 4. But even then, he basically was put in Invader 3's role of tagging with Invader 1 when needed and being one of the focal points of the Junior title division. I've heard vague statements that he had some personal issues which kind of stalled his career.
