Posted May 6, 201114 yr comment_5470811 Bobby Jaggers v. Mr. Ebony Got to give to Jaggers and Ebony as they work a really effective match around a whole lot of nothing. Ebony in particular is really great antagonizing the crowd with deliberate cheapshots, poses and comedic bits with referee Sandy Barr. Nothing special really. Bobby Jaggers interview. Jaggers cuts a promo after a Mike Miller post-match attack holding a chair. Jaggers promo is pretty good as usual. Tom Pritchard v. The Cuban Assassin (2/3 Falls) First fall was really flowless and confused. The piledriver spot and subsequent confusion on the near fall attempt was really bad and make worse by the way Pritchard sold it. This wasn't very good. 2nd fall was almost as bad. Pritchard hit some nice spots but they laid around doing nothing a lot and while the finish was okay it was nothing great. The third fall has the longest overhead wristlock I've ever seen. Pritchard eventually bleeds something fierce but that point this sucked hard. Enough about this match. Tom Pritchard interview. Mike Miller interview. Mando Guerrero v. Kendo Nagasaki Mando brings a lot of neat arm work in this. The floatover out of the bodyslam is common enough but he does a nice escape out of a front face lock and they do a really great looking short arm scissors, with Nagasaki of all people adding the Backlund style deadlift escape. Mando took a nice wild bump to the floor for Nagasaki's karate schtick as a follow up. Nagasaki breaks an arm stretcher and actually does a nice cross armbreaker style take down of his own. Mando is staggering around from karate/biting and does a wild back headbutt off the ropes only to get caught a couple of seconds later with a stiff backbreaker for the finish. I liked what was here, but it really needed more time to be a nomination. Bobby Jaggers v. Mike Miller (2/3 Falls) Pre-match Jaggers gets a new PNW belt. Jaggers is sort of a poor man's Dusty Rhodes here and Mike Miller a poor man's Jake Roberts but if you are going to trying and replicate two guys you could do worse than that. Crowd is really into this and bites on all the early stalling and punch exchanges. You wish Jaggers had a bit more offensively but his knees looked nasty and the finishing lariat was nice. Pretty decent first fall. 2nd Fall has some decent exchanges of leverage holds that the crowd was really into and I liked some of Miller's prickish behavior. Jaggers arm/wrist ends up getting attacked with Jaggers doing some decent dead armed selling Miller really looking deliberate in his work. I am always a fan of finger manipulation spots and there was some of that here as well as some nasty looking knees. Jaggers tried to fire up but took a fall off of a telegraphed back body drop attempt and an elbow drop. Third fall starts off fast with Jaggers going right at Miller, but Miller avoids the elbow drop and punts Bobby to the floor. Then Miller grabs the new belt and flees. There were parts of this I liked but I wouldn't fight for it on the set. I'll toss it on the dock as something that might be a low level nomination. Mike Miller/Bobby Jaggers both cut promos about the belt theft. Jaggers tries to break down a door with a table to get the belt. Ed Wiskowski/Kendo Nagasaki interview.
