Rick commits fully on a missed splash and eats knees, also throws some nice short rights, and leans way into Gagne's dropkicks. Gagne showed more fire here than usual, match was just too short. 2. Randy Rose/Dennis Condrey v Jake Milliman/Sonny Rogers This was pretty disappointing. Midnights looked real disjointed, really sloppy. Doing stuff like missing elbow drops that were supposed to hit (particularly the finish), limply applying chokes and headlocks, and doing odd stuff (like Rose brushing off Milkman's back after throwing him to the floor. Not just a quick wipe, either, he was really brushing that back, like Jake was covered in ants). Just an odd, crummy little match. 3. DJ Peterson/JT Southern v Dennis Stamp/Tom Stone This was almost exclusively headlocks and armdrags by the babyfaces. Southern and DJ are really bland here. Peterson is even announced as "the very popular DJ Peterson" which seems like a desperate way to announce a face. 4. Nick Bockwinkel v Larry Zbyszko Well this is an easy nomination. Bockwinkel rushes the ring and just kicks Larry's ass all over the ring, inside and out, throwing great punches and looking awesome. Larry fights back with great punches of his own, and this whole thing is just a really great fast-paced brawl. Bockwinkel wins with a roll of dimes and LeDoux plays aloof and says since he didn't see Bockwinkel use the dimes, he can't DQ him. Great match, great brawl, easy nomination.
June 20, 201114 yr comment_5474558 Greg Gagne v. Rick Gantner Gantner bailing to the floor and stalking around early was good as was his pre-match act. Loved the drop down monkey flip spot and Gagne's double armbar was cool looking. Gantner worked some nice heel tactics when on offense, hit a cool powerslam and his slingshot press into Gagne's knees was cool. Gagne won with the dropkicks. This was good but a hair too short. Randy Rose/Dennis Condrey v Jake Milliman/Sonny Rogers This was worth watching just for the look on Bock's face when Paul E walked over and started jabbering into his headset. There is a really brutal clothesline early in this and I liked Rose's float over on Milliman too. Condrey was actually pretty vicious in this and his mocking of Milliman was amsuing. Rose hits a nice diving fistdrop, Condrey rubs his face into the ground and while the finish wasn't the cleanest it wasn't awful. I fail to see how this was "disappointing." Curt Hennig promo. Another good Hennig heel promo talking about how he won the title from Bock. EXTRA DJ Peterson/JT Southern v Dennis Stamp/Tom Stone This was not bad actually. The faces offense was kind of sloppy but some of it was decent enough. Trongard talking about Southern looking like David Lee Roth utterly confused Gagne which was another highlight. Also Stamp looked good again and the diving Hart Attack finish was good shit. Nick Bockwinkel v. Larry Zbyszko Nominated already. Larry Z post-match promo. I don't think this is included on the earlier version of the match I saw but it would make a good EXTRA
