We'll try to inject some retro...or we can do a separate show for that, I dunno.

We haven't done a second show yet because Dylan's PC issues are keeping him from using Skype so we'll probably do more TalkShoe Betas on a less regular schedule for now.

Id much prefer a current affairs show covering some of the stories on CageSideSeats. Naturally given Bix and Dylan's wide frame of reference historic parallels will be discussed when they come up.

There are millions of retro podcasts out there even going as far back as Joe Vs The World to Bix's old shows to Flair Chop nowadays. A bunch of guys on DVDR have a number of podcasts chatting about history and historical projects too.

I can only think of three out there currently: Flairchop, Good Will Wrestling and Wrestlespective, of which only two are good.

On Wrestlespective they can't help but bring everything back to modern day comparisons and I always get the impression that the other guy is winging it / just hasn't seen a lot of old stuff. That is a show that should be focused on current stuff. I mean they can't talk about a DiBiase match without comparing him to Ted junior. They can't talk about a tag match without going on about today's tag scene. I'm like "why bother guys?" It's obvious to me where someone's frame of reference is.

But when you've got two guys with knowledge like Bix and Dylan, it's almost a waste to focus purely on current stuff.

Great show guys. You got me up to speed on the whole Sinclair/ROH situation with some interesting perspective and I really enjoyed the Savage pimping.

Question for Dylan... If Savage is #1 and Austin is #2 in terms of WWF/E guys, where would you rank Eddie Guerrero? Obviously he was never the star Austin, Cena or Savage was, but his feud with Rey Mysterio in 2005 did big numbers and I'd argue he was as multi-versatile as Savage. I guess his run as champion wasn't the best as far a television ratings go (or am I misrembering?) but he was really incredible in that role, and his character development, which peaked in 05, was really impressive as was his promos. His death came at his overall career peak IMO if you factor in the promos, character, ring psych etc.... And that's only a small portion of a great career.

Cenas stuff has just been so overbooked, but when he gets a chance he still has the matches. I liked his series with Punk earlier in the year and he had a really good match with Dolph Ziggler on Raw a little while back. Cena-Miz Raw WM rematch was a good match in the midst of things.

Where would you guys rank Undertaker? I know his mid-90s period sucked hard, largely due to all the crappy feuds he was given, and also because the earlier Michael Myers version of the slow no-selling zombie didn't exactly lend itself to workrate classics. But not many guys have the sheer number of fine matches under their belt in that company that he's had, against a wide variety of opponents in different eras. Especially considering he took such a goofy gimmick and made it work so well for such a ridiculously long time.
