Sherri Martel v. Candy Divine

Superclash I. This is JIP though more complete than the other version we have. Either way it won't be on the set.

Candi Devine v Sherri Martel – AWA Woman’s title. Martel wins the belt. Match is JIP

This didn't do much for me. It was JIP so not sure how much we missed. A lot of arm work.

Jerry Blackwell v Kamala

Bodyslam Challenge! a match with two big fatties would have to be just horrendous for me to not nominate it. That being said, I thought this was really fun. They really build to the bodyslam nicely, Blackwell throws a bunch of cool headbutts throughout (to the head and to the chest!), does a cool splash that lands him over Kimala's face/chest, they do a bunch of cool teases and clubbering, all leading to Blackwell slamming him. This likely won't land super high on most peoples' ballots, but I liked it. NOMINATE!

Dusty Rhodes/Dick Murdoch v The Crusher/Dick the Bruiser – The Amphitheater in Chicago, IL 3/9/73

Man Larry Nelson is just horrible here. Practically every call he makes in this match is incorrect, constantly getting everybody mixed up, clearly not knowing any backstory of any of the workers. The match itself was really fun of course.

Curt Hennig/Scott Hall/Greg Gagne v Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens/Larry Zbyszko

This match was all about the Hennig FIP stuff. He was GREAT in that role here. Bock and Larry were great picking on him, too. Loved when Hennig rolled to the outside, and Bock snuck around and punched him, then Larry ran and kneed him from the apron. Awesome stuff. Gagne looked on fire in this as well, although the pre-match camou midriff top was regrettable. I also didn't realize Stevens was working heel this late in his career. I'm kind on the fence about nominating this one. It did a lot of things well, the FIP sections were great, they maximized Scott Hall's usefullness, but I wish it had picked up faster and been more of a sprint. So I'm on the fence.
