Larry's stalling may have gone on a hair too long, but the opening exchange with him and Jannetty was pretty hot stuff. Jannetty really is a slick @#!*% and just has some cool looking @#!*% in general. Michaels and Go segment was fun with Michaels holding onto an arm even as Go falls to the floor. Go teases superkicks coming off the ropes but Michaels avoids two and then hits a sunset flip for a near fall. Larry is in and mocks slaps Michaels which is the sort of @#!*% that would have gotten him blackballed in 95 WWF. Interaction with Larry and Shawn is fun stuff but nothing off the charts. Marty goes FIP after a throat thrust from Go. Jannetty's bumpig and limp body selling is pretty good but I still kinda wish the heels would have had something more impactful on offense. Just as I type that Go and Larry hit a cool backbreaker/diving chop spot that was pretty neat. Michaels gets the hot tag and hits a couple of really great superkicks. Faces get cut off by being whipped into each other but Michaels pulls Go to the floor and tries to wipe him out with a dive that doesn't really connect. Finishing run has some cool near falls with a Marty jacknife on Larry, a cool brainbusteresque spot from Go on Jannetty, a Rockers double dropkick, et. Problem is the structure really kind of falls apart toward the end or at least it felt that way on the first watch and the fact that they were going to a draw was heavily telegraphed by the announcers for the last three or four minutes. There was enough cool @#!*% in this to at least throw it on the dock but I'm not sure how well it is going to hold up to scrutiny.

The Midnight Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) vs. Mr. Go (Steve O) & "Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko (7/26/86)

Rockers are starting to come into their own here. The fans hate Larry here and he is great at getting them even more agitated by his stalling tactics which go on for quite a while. Rockers pay Larry back for his stalling but throwing him around for a bit with Larry taking some fun bumps before bringing in Go which is interesting because you can see from the way Go works that he isn't Japanese. Shawn was really solid here working Go's arm before Larry would come in and jackslapped Shawn in the face with Shawn firing back in return which was hilarious. Marty would eventually come in and he worked FIP and this was okay but not dynamic although Marty tried with his bumping and selling before getting the hot tag to Shawn who comes in hitting a couple of superkicks before taking Go to the floor and barely hitting him with a dive. The stretch run was okay but like Dylan said it just fell apart for the last couple of minutes. The announcers declared the match was over but they were still working the match until the bell would actually ring for the draw. This had some really fun action but the total clusterfuck at the end hurts this and I'm going to say no here. Better finish or a cleaner finish at that puts this over the top.
