Debeers ambushed Hall at the bell but Hall comes back quickly and the crowd is really rabid for it. Hall misses a big elbow drop and Debeers immediately goes to work on his arm. I liked the spot with Hall slamming Debeers and Debeers holding onto the hand and just slowly pulling Hall down. Debeers kept doing this crazy spot where he would rub Hall's fingers into the hooks on the ring by the ring post which also made for a cool comeback spot with Hall punching the Col. wildly to the floor. Hall tries to comeback with more shots in the ring and Debeers sees one coming and bites him as a cutoff spot which was great. Hall makes his comeback and we get some stock Debeers bumps. Debeers is saved with his leg on the rope from falling to the bulldog. Hall goes for it a second time which leads to a ref bump. Hall hits a third but the ref calls for the bell on a DQ. Finish was pretty lame and no one will mistake this for a great match but I thought it was effective stuff, a mostly good performance from Hall and a good competitive match with the Col. Post-match face off with Debeers tumbling to the floor was pretty great too.

Scott Hall vs. Col. DeBeers (8/30/86)

 

DeBeers jumps Hall at the bell but Hall fights back and the crowd is pretty hot for this exchange with DeBeers pinballing around. Hall would miss a diving elbow so that gives DeBeers the opportunity to work over his left arm and this was well done as DeBeers was ruthless in his attack. Hall would fight back but DeBeers kept going back to the fingers and arm until Hall's punches were too much for DeBeers to cut off. DeBeers is back to bumping like crazy making Hall's comeback fun. Hall hits a bulldog for a nearfall but when he went for it the 2nd time he got bumped into Marty Miller although that didn't stop him though as he would hit a 3rd one but at this point Miller called for the DQ. Crappy finish but this was about as good of a match as you would get out of Scott Hall at this time. Good little match and I'll push it forward.
